Last few scenarios have been pretty slow due to players not getting their loving turns in, used to be an update a day most weeks. Now it's like 1-2 a week at best.

That's only true for the first few turns of the first few scenarios. As soon as there was more coordination and planning neccessary, we got two, three or more days between turns. Go and check for yourself. Whining about not getting updates more often, has become much more frequent, however. But here, in this scenario, there isn't really much coordination between the players required, so I don't really see why some players cannot submit their turns just a little bit quicker.

Most of them are pretty quick; but it's also compounded by me never receiving the final player's orders on a day I can update (like today; I work until 10:00 PM and go back in tomorrow for 5:00 AM. Sucks). If I'd had the orders I could've done the update this morning; but I'm going to be too tired to write tomorrow. VVV I'm still waiting on orders, there's nothing I can do. `Mech Design Contest 2 The Draconis Suns need a flagship `Mech for the Ryuken, something to give the best of the best of their pilots (or perhaps a miserable failure to fob off on them). Meanwhile, the Capellans aren’t about to let themselves be outdone! They need a new `Mech to deter the fledgling Duchy of New Syrtis (or possibly to crush them under boot). This time, I’m looking for three `Mechs, two for the Draconis Suns, one for the Capellan Confederation. Rules: Participants are allowed ONE entry per faction (so one for the DraSuns and one for the CapCon). `Mechs can be of any weight or class `Mechs may mount any armament. In addition to standard Level 1 equipment, `Mechs may also field new experimental weaponry being developed by their respective nation: `Mechs of the Draconis Suns may field: A) Experimental Heavy PPCs (‘jams’ on doubles, same size/tonnage as the regular Heavy PPC) B) Hyper-Velocity Autocannon/10 (As standard, except it jams on a 2 rather than exploding) C) HVAC Acid Rounds (deal increased damage to Ferro-Fiberous Armor, reduced damage to internal structure and standard armor)* D) HVAC Guided Rounds (may be fired indirectly, deal area damage but hit `Mechs in 5-damage clusters)* *HVAC Specialized Ammo requires specialized ammunition storage bays, and a `Mech must be designed to carry it specifically. `Mechs of the Capellan Confederation may field: A) Improved Heatsinks: 1 ton, 2 slots, dissipates 1.5 heat per sink (rounded down) B) Medium Range Missile 10/20/30/40s C) Improved Listen-Kill missiles, advanced sonar renders advances in `Mech soundproofing a moot point (-1 to hit, range reduced to 2/6/12/18). Require specialized LRM-racks and so `Mechs must be designed with them in mind. May also be mounted in specialized MRMs (-1 to hit, range reduced to 0/3/8/12). D) NARC Missile Beacon Two of the winners will be chosen by the thread when the Solaris VII fight ends, in lieu of our standard MVP vote. The final winner will be chosen by me. Please PM `Mech files to me, or e-mail at removed, sorry. I don't leave these up forever.. This E-Mail link will be taken down in approximately 48 hours. I do have to wonder exactly how much damage HVAC/10 Acid rounds would deal to FF. I would suppose they'd do 1.5x damage, since that's how Acid SRMs work. Considering that a lot of Clan mediums, lights, and even low-Heavies use FF armor as a weight-saver, this would make it something of a poor-man's Gauss as far as Clanbuster weapons go. For an AC/10, I'm guessing it deals 6 damage to standards and internals, 15 to Ferro-Fibrous Armor. Bonus damage does not carry over to internals if armor is scoured. And Guided rounds, do they require TAG or are these truly smart mini-Tom munitions? These are obviously the anti-BA option. EDIT: I also do like the idea of iLK LRMs being a shorter-ranged substitute for NLRMs. Runa fucked around with this message at 12:55 on Mar 5, 2012 |
