What other numbers can we expect to see tonight? Are important results still tickling in, or are have most states wrapped things up for the night?

Pick posted:Like, if Hispanic people keep saying "we're not automatically in favor of more people from [completely different country]" it was maybe wise to listen to them sooner. Remind me what primary candidate had the highest Latino support?

youcallthatatwist posted:what are you trying to say, then. what's your point here Don’t take it as a given that they’re pro immigration and try to convince them why they should be for it or give them other policy red meat.? I think Picks argument is that Dems going “of course they’ll vote for us, we’re pro immigration and they’re Hispanic” is really dumb.

There are a ton of early votes they could not process in GA because, no fooling, a water main broke. (The ballots are fine.)

Ahh ok. 89% reporting with an 8 point margin looks like it should be called, tho. Do they have a lot of mail-ins and early votes to tab?

Atlanta's vote counters went home for the night, so I assume this means margins are shrinking more than anticipated in the places finishing their counts.

The NY Times needle is just a probability indicator based on polling data, right? Why are you guys so into it if the pollsters seem to be working from inaccurate data? Hope is poison. Tasty, tasty poison.

I was bernie-or-bust in 2016. I camped out for the DNC. I was at Standing Rock on election day. I remember climbing Facebook Hill to get updates late that night, taking a turn on the exercize bike that would charge someone's cell phone so we could get a trickle of signal. I was woken up the next morning in my tent by a Yakima woman, announcing that Trump was the victor. It was a hell of an experience, but I was shielded from the hell ya'll experienced. The sudden crash of confidence and setting in of dread and fear. None of the called states have broken in a way that is surprising, I still think this will break Biden - but I'm disappointed that the overwhelming domination I anticipated failed to materialize. But I feel it. The PTSD from '16, I'm feeling it.
