So this operation has been getting me to try classes I don't normally use. For some reason, it took me until now to give a Drell Adept a shot, so I took my new buddy  out for a run.Cluster Grenades are a hell of a drug.

Unlocked the argus I and did my usual new toy thing: Turian Soldier/N7 Destroyer, glacier, cerberus, bronze, solo. Lasted exactly two waves before saying "gently caress this terrible weapon" and pulling out the piranha. I only have the piranha II but it's leagues ahead of the argus in every way. It's even better for sniping with. Wrap your head around that: the shotgun with the loosest choke in the game is better for picking out specific targets at range than a goddam assault rifle.

Which seems stranger? An AAdept with a Wraith and a Geth SMG, or a Justicar who never used bubble? I have no idea how we pulled that extraction off. At least I unlocked a Paladin for my troubles.

Confirming that an all-vorcha team is pretty hilarious. I'm not sure most pubbies have figured out that it needs to be a full extraction, though.

It'd be hilarious if this was the Allied Goal instead and we failed again because Bioware continues to fail at communicating what the goal is. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCE NEXT OPERATION: Can't revive someone of a different race.

Sorry ScifiBeatdown, it looked like we'd get there with a team Beep Boop, but one of the pubbies dropped out and got replaced by a Turian, and then they dropped out and got replaced by a Krogan. The other pubbie abandoned the match and I was last man standing at extraction as the Krogan ran miles away from the LZ to melee things, get killed and medigel himself again and again. To complete this I think the way to go is making your match private and inviting friends, otherwise pubbies will gently caress it up. However just as the operation was starting I played two all Krogan matches with pubbies that went to full extraction, so I've got it (though fine to help other people).

Ugh, count me out. Atlases are just annoying now, shootin' you through cover and taking forever to kill. Brutes would be kinda cool. They're the only boss monster I like now. Banshees are completely topheavy to the point where they're absolute bullshit and the worst thing in the game to fight one second and then useless stationary targets the next (plus  MAGNET HANDS). Atlases are annoying bullet sponges. Geth Primes are annoying bullet sponges that cross-map you with their stupid shotguns and constantly spam inordinately powerful turrets. Phantoms wouldn't be terrible if they didn't have the  , but something about their version of the Phase Disruptor makes me go "ugh, really?" in a way I can't readily quantify. Brutes runnin' around in Cerberus and Geth games might be kinda awesome, though. But only if friendly fire was enabled and sometimes they'd just mow down a bunch of trash mobs trying to get to you.

Yup if you can't get a full team just grab one friend and run a quick bronze, or silver if you get a third. I'm be on murdering Cerberus over and over again for most of the weekend on 360. Did the squad last night with Two Finger and Name Not A Number (Three Batarian soldiers = loads of atomic fistbumps and exploding corpses) but I've got everything unlocked and enjoy all-whatever runs so look me up if you need someone to fill up a team. I am TheHumanDignity on Origin, I will gladly join your drell team. Also, this just happened.  I kept falling down to the helipad and then bouncing back up into the sky and was unable to move anywhere, though I was able to hit things on the ground with powers with varying success. Occasionally I would get downed, which would result in my falling down through the helipad before respawning back in place floating above it. This happened during wave 3 and carried on for three or four more while my teammates holed up in the top corridor and stared in bewilderment between waves, until they finally kicked me.

Also, they didn't kick you, you got auto-kicked for lack of activity (you weren't looking around enough or whatever). There's no mechanism for players to kick each other during a match. EDIT: Also, for GestaltIntellect's benefit, as I mentioned it last night...  Team Batarian is always fun.

It's very possible to get the squad goal with random pubs as long as you're not trying above silver. It's fun to do with Vorcha, I don't know if any other game can make a team of 4 angry goblin dudes in technicolor speedos murdering things with flamethrowers look totally normal. And thank you, selfless man in the purple knickers, for leaving the match when you got sync killed during extraction so that the rest of us would complete the goal .I also respecced my shadow so I could try out the rad flaming sword, and I like it even more now. Getting [Shadow Strike] Atlas & [Melee] Atlas right on top of each other is a nice feeling.

Today's lesson: I am terrible with Batarians on Gold. My inferno grenades and ballistic blades, which are so effective against Phantoms on Silver didn't seem to work for poo poo.

I've done the op with team batarian intentionally (see that youtube) and today with pub groups did turian and asari. I have to say batarian is more fun than the other two. Haven't gotten into team krogan or team vorcha yet.

That would be a concern if the game was even slightly competent at filling in open slots once the round is started. I don't know if I just have horrible luck, but usually if someone drops out and it's past wave 1, there is like a 90% chance they will never get replaced. Did the Krysae get buffed back to usefulness at some point? I've been seeing a lot more people using them with actual decent results lately, but I haven't used it in a long time, and the last time it was pretty not good.

Dude I can kinda see that with a Salarian Infiltrator or a Quarian Male Infiltrator, they have abilities that stagger a guy and put them in prime head-poppin' position. But with a Geth Infiltrator? That's just good fuckin' aim. I wish I was good at sniping. The only time I could get the Gold Sniper Medal was back when the Krysae was a god tier weapon.

If you use the Javelin a lot, you get into a really good zone with it. It also means you know exactly how AI takes cover and how to line up a headshot before they get there. I used to use it a ton and got pretty good with it, I could get gold sniper kill medals with the Jav. Probably not now. I took out my Valiant again just to see "hmm do I like sniping" and the answer remains no. I burned out way too hard on it doing FBW farming. Ah well

Yeah once you get used to the Javelin it's not hard to consistently nail headshots, although that is more impressive since they're doing it on the console version with the awful auto-aim.

Four Batarians vs. Cerberus was definitely the most fun run of this challenge I've done. I recorded it and am currently using it as a test to see if I can figure out editing/compressing software (results unlikely) but it does include an amazing bit of Felinoid gliding 20 feet forward in the punch windup animation to send a dude's head just as far.
