lol literally millions of dollars in bitcoins were "lost" because they were parked in bitcoin trading/banking services that turned out to be scams and the owners of these bitcoins walked away* with nothing because anti-fraud measures are antithetical to the money of the future!

lol jk they just put the rest of their life savings into different bitcoin services because losing everything to fraud is an acceptable risk that wouldn't happen if this wasn't such a hot commodity!

My bank introduced global international transfers with 0 fees. 0 fees as in 0 fees, as opposed to bitcoin transactions where people sometimes pay over a thousand bucks just to send.

Pretty cool.

I like it when people actually trying to use bitcoin swap the fee with the amount intended to be sent to the other party

I like how this can't happen because any half-baked client will set the fee automatically based on the state of mempool, or if it's crazy enough to let the user do it will have basic programming 101 sanity checks.

It’s always funny when bitcoiners say “X can’t happen for reasons” when X has already occurred multiple times in real life.

if you're an american AND you're on the up and up (ie intend to pay your capital gains taxes) AND you're reasonably confident the coins are not connected to a DNM (ie no purchases or sales), just go through gemini or coinbase.

if you want some cash in your hand now and don't mind getting hosed on FEES, look up a bitcoin ATM in your area.

one new COVID challenge with localbitcoins is that, depending on where you live, there may be no public spaces open. also if you're selling a significant amount of bitcoins you either A. need to go out and meet up with a bunch of ratlicking assholes over and over or B. meet some guy in a public place who just happens to have thousands of dollars in cash on hand, who is definitely not criminal and will not ensnare you in some sort of criminal conspiracy.

if you can withstand an interrogation about where the coins came from and is OK with sending your ID scans to some coiners, it seems like coinbase is pretty well established, most of the complaints about it seem to be like "they asked too many questions about where my drug money came from"

bitcoiners. it's the subtext behind a lot of complaints about exchanges. every so often an exchange will roast someone by publicly explaining exactly why they are not giving someone their money and it's always because they had a very suspicious transaction history and refused to identify themselves.

Nah, I'm saying they had some weight back in the summer of 2015, after mt gox crashed btc from $1,100 down to ~$160 and I was hodling at a loss for a few months (I went all in at $255). These days your arguments are a sad joke. You lost this battle a long time ago, you just lack the self-awareness to realize it and/or the humility to accept your utter, total defeat.
