Tubes for making underbarrel weapons haven't been universally claimed by any one scrunt, but I figure these are a general resource. Even if Yurik isn't much of a shoot-scrunt I still might like an underbarrel grenade launcher for some added flexibility against squads, for instance.

I believe that Mung has laid claim to the wrecked comms equipment, if he hasn't then Yurik will because I have Plans for it.

A packing crate containing twenty steak knives and five Chain Knives ???

Three Iron Eater Grenades I locked these into place but haven't claimed them as Yurik's personal property. Given his last experience with one it might go either way.

Carapace plates and harnesses that could, one day, cover four scrunts If someone hasn't claimed this then someone please claim this, carapace armor is pretty decent while we're still dealing with enemies who mostly use lasweapons and shotguns. Are you a front-line scrunt? Do you like to RIP AND TEAR? Then get some loving carapace while you can.

Flak leggings/boots for four scrunts, and a shitload of other flak that can be resized one day More general scrunthorde resources.

Two Good quality combat lasers as well as a couple dozen lascarbines I know at least one Triplex has been claimed, dunno about the other. Lascarbines are technoscrunt fodder.

A small sack containing four phials of EXPERIMENTAL COMBAT DRUG Has anyone claimed this yet?

EITHER - Two Melta-Bombs, taken from god knows where, or A functional grav-chute and mission objective documents from a Drop Trooper Y'know, I'm not sure if anyone has claimed these yet. I'm always interested in DOCUMENTS but otoh I've already locked in two gear choices as additional intel, and melta-bombs are pretty sweet.

An Adonai-Pattern Boltgun and thirty bolts Ironically it's Gumbo who's probably in the best position to make use of this right now given that I think he's the only scrunt with Bolt training at the moment. Grimply is our resident sniper but I don't think he's got the training to make optimal use out of it yet. Still, we ought to snag it because the stats ain't half bad.

Phoon
Apr 23, 2010

EXPERIMENTAL COMBAT DRUG should go to whoever is researching them and then get handed out when people run out of theirs

I should probably grab some carapace (and the bolter I guess?)

The knives and flak could be used to outfit the militia

We've got the krak launchers for anti-vehicles so the grav chute seems reasonable if anyone wants it. If nobody specifically wants a grav chute then go with the melta bombs.

Inexplicable Humblebrag

stuff that isn't claimed goes onto the loot pile, which is a cart pulled by Nigel the Scrunt. he is short and fat

you don't lose it, you just don't have it on you so e.g. if you're like "where's the rocket launcher!!" in combat you won't be able to get to it

wrecked carapace and flak bits are in no state to provide any protection, they are strictly raw material at the mo. you will need like proper manufacturing facilities to put it together; a step up from the farm, but not, like, a high-tech lab or anything

  • Two Melta-Bombs - Mung
  • A Poor-Quality Refractor Field - Grumb
  • An Adonai-Pattern Boltgun and thirty bolts - :siren: loot pile :siren:

i forgot to answer whether or not you can have bayonets + underslung weapons on the same weapon; you can, but the underslung weapon becomes side-slung, and becomes Inaccurate. alternatively the bayonet can be sideslung but then the weapon itself becomes Inaccurate, so, uh. bayonets and grenade launchers can only be installed on basic or heavy weapons, to prevent the following

pistols can have a shotgun attachment but you need both hands or recoil gloves to fire it without penalty

once again, armour scraps are not suitable for use at the moment, they need machining tools of a higher quality than the farm could provide.

Does being inaccurate make much of a difference for shotguns? I'm trying to figure out whether I should requisition a bayonet, a shotgun or both for this autocannon.

Inexplicable Humblebrag

it means you cannot benefit from aim actions so if you think you'll be aiming at close range, it's probably an issue.

i've vacillated back and forth on how we're running Scatter weapons in this campaign and cannot remember what we last decided on. i think it was "let's use Black Crusade rules" where you get bonus damage full stop rather than bonus hits for DoS, but i dunno if anyone else has input on what we should do

More flat damage would make it easier to punch through armor of exceptionally tough targets (light vehicles in particular). Extra hits would be devastating against light and unarmored targets.

Personally I think that having a point blank shotgun blast able to crack light vehicle armor like a peanut shell seems more thematically appropriate. Point blank buckshot to an engine block will absolutely wreck havoc to it.

Edit: I'll update my character sheet Sunday, I'm away from my computer this weekend.

Shall I take the bolter? I don't expect to use it much, so if anyone else wants to learn 2 bolt you can have it.

What are the stats on the steak knives are they actually legitimate fighting weapons or just good for steaks*? Presumably you need chain training for the chain knives? Looking to outfit the militia a little better.

*I hope we find some steaks soon.

Btw I'm gonna try to have a scruntpost up later this evening after work. I plan on bullying Groin while continuing to investigate the mystery metal. We've determined that despite appearing inorganic the metal is capable of eating and moving...but can it get high? These are the questions science compels us to ask.

Inexplicable Humblebrag

the knives are knives. they are either for bayonetting, or for knifing; they are bad weapons on their own, like all knives. apparently strapping the knife to a gun makes the knife capable of doing twice as much damage.

the chain knives are roughly equivalent in damage to your scrunt close combat weapons (1d10+1 tearing is about the same as 1d10+2 and they have the same pen) but tend to skew higher on the average damage roll

lascarbines are arguably worse than autoguns for a large group of scrunts

action economy for formations is a bit odd; they don't seem to need to spend actions on readying weapons, they just sort of bristle with everything they have all at once. so bayonets or knives may not add much flexibility to them.

Extra leverage from having the entire length of a rifle behind a swing.

Keep in mind with chain knives that if you use them as bayonets they act as a chain spear, which will be significantly better as a melee weapon.

Kaiju Cage Match

Well if attaching a bayonet to a gun makes it count as a spear for melee purposes, then it should make sense for a gun with a chain knife attached to be counted as a chain spear when used in melee.
