He should have a bunch of different women who -while none of them should be Saori- are all as cool as Saori.

And then it turns out oops you were Mafuyu's wingman and they go and date her afterwards.

I will admit to being highly disappointed that dating everyone in Judgment didn't result in (Y7 spoilers) Yagami getting his rear end beat in hilarious fashion.

I finally finished LJ and the DLC to complete all of the (English) released Yakuza series content. It's one of my favorites and much better than the first one, probably below 7 and 0 but somewhere around kiwami 2 and 5 for me. Blending in the school story stuff for that trademark yakuza weirdness plugged the holes that bothered me about the first judgment. The ending of The Kaito Files surprised me though. I was sure (LJ DLC spoiler) that Mikiko would die since it's an unwritten rule that protags can't have a happily ever after family in these things. Maybe she'll just head to America like Kaoru at the start of Judgment 3 to tie up that loose end.

Now to go back into hibernation until Kenzan releases.

Dang the gold set of completion challenges for drone racing are tough as balls. I've pretty much conquered all minigames (shogi with autoplay), but this one will take some time.

High level drone racing is absolutely no fun

At least in Judgement it was kinda funny to realize that the AI drones tricked themselves out so much that they couldn’t handle any course that required not going in a straight line and were effectively easier than the prior tiers.

If you spec for a bit of health along with speed, you can get away with bumping the fuckers into the corners and other things if you do it right. Sadly, you're the only one with a health bar, so you can't knock them out of the race, but it sure is fun.

I got some dlc drone chassis that have maxed durability and I still blow myself up on that Millenium Tower pass. Doesn't help that the time attack challenges seem to be tuned to the absolute max speed possible, which forces you to sacrifice a lot of handling.

Idk, maybe I'll just ignore it. I have missed some cats already, so no chance of getting all the cheevos anyway.

So far I've played Like a Dragon, 0, and Kiwami 1 and 2 and they've all played perfectly. I think they're mostly verified and I'm sure even the ones that aren't are gonna be playable.

I generally love the soundtrack of these games and there's always something incredible in there - just from memory, 4's final boss themes are all great and the For Faith/Four Face mix brings them together well, 5 has Battle for the Dream, 0 has Pledge of Demon and Oath of Enma (both Kuze fight themes), 6 has Bloodstained Philosophy/DESTINY, and Theory of Beauty (Joon-gi Han's fight theme), 7 that too.

Judgment though, I've heard Penumbra mentioned but nothing else has stood out so far. J2's Viper absolutely takes the crown of that series though.

Replaying Judgment, I'm a bit disappointed at how unmemorable its OST is. It's the same composer for the whole series I think.

I really like the Judgment soundtrack, but I think Lost Judgment so far is much better. There's some music typically played with high school stories that sounds right out of a Persona game, which was a perfect vibe for those substories.

I didn’t like how Lost Judgment cordoned most of its side content off until you progressed far enough in the existing clubs, many of which overstayed their welcome for me. I prefer just finding all that stuff out in the world as I play.

I also felt the story didn’t really land the issues it was trying to tackle.

It has amazing gamefeel though. A flawed but fun sequel.

I think someone else did a few tracks in Judgement because the banging track for the Keihin Four leader is nowhere on Spotify, but even if Judgement’s tracks don’t stand out as much it had a strong enough endgame theme to make me ignore how contrived the “fight a wave of goons” part of the endgame was.

Yep, it's got a shonen vibe for sure. Similar stuff pops up in other games as well; e.g. the school segments in Trails of Cold Steel III

I actually like the way it did that tbh. I had no self control when I played the first game and pretty much burned through all the side content immediately. Obviously more stuff still opened up as the game progressed, but it really trickles it out after the front loaded first section and I kind of like the game nudging you along to do a little more story before getting back to the side stuff.

LJ music loving rules.

I didn't like how it handled sidestories much. As a one-off i'm super okay with the school setting and how stuff was gated around it, but I much prefer getting to like chapter 3 with enough of my kit unlocked, going ham for like twenty hours doing side stuff, and then going back to sidestuff as it unlocks with the story. There's something very, very enjoyable of walking around the city banging out story after story like a glutton.

Playing through 0 for the first time (having played half of Kiwami before losing all my progress a few years ago). Are all the Yakuza games this horny? There's the telephone club, the cabaret club, the Porno Zone, the catfighting... the list goes on. I don't remember Kiwami being nearly this sexual.
