Directed by: Michael Bay Starring: Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, Ed Harris, John Spencer My favorite movie of all time. The Rock is about a renegade general hijacking nerve gas and taking over Alcatraz, holding all of San Francisco hostage. Nicolas Cage plays an FBI chemical weapons expert sent in with the only man to have ever escaped from The Rock, a British spy played by Sean Connery. It has excellent special effects, very solid acting, and a plot so over the top that you can't help but love it. Also, it has an excellent soundtrack, probably the best ever made by Hans Zimmer. RATING: 5.5 PROS: Incredible action sequences, Sean Connery, Alcatraz! CONS: None ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117500/ Camelmaster fucked around with this message at 14:45 on May 8, 2004 |

I always enjoy watching this movie; the action sequences are pretty good throughout. Plus, there's Sean Connery, who is basically always a positive. My favorite part? Rocket Man. 4/5

About the only Michael Bay movie I've seen that I've enjoyed. Great action sequences with none of the romantic worthlessness in Armageddon and Pearl Harbor. 4/5

4/5 I specifically remember that this is the first rated R movie I saw in the theater. I went with my parents to see it in the theater and I loved it ever since. It has a nice storyline to it and of course props to Connery and Cage.

It's pretty entertaining, and fun to watch. I don't think I've ever seen a Nicholas Cage movie I didn't like, though. Plus, it's got "I'D TAKE PLEASURE IN GUTTIN YOU... BOY." 3.5/5

I love this movie and Nicholas Cage. It's fun to watch, and Nick Cage and Sean Connery's characters are both very likeable and have a good chemistry together in the film despite their clashing personalities. It's a lot of fun to watch, and I especially love the movie after they go into Alcatraz. Oh yeah, the scene is really cool, too.
