Backdrop Hunger
Directed by: Andrew Stanton
Starring: Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres

Finding Nemo, #70 on the IMDB top 250 (with a median of 9 :monocle: ), is a simply outstanding movie. Top-notch animation (Dory's facial expressions are like 75% of the comedy, and it's all real pretty), good voice acting, good little plot, plenty of humor, and so on, and so on. The story isn't exactly a world-beater, but that's not the aim of an animated movie. IMHO, this will help set the standard for future US-produced animation.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

RATING: 5.5

PROS: One of the best animated films ever
CONS: Really hyped, which could harm it for first-timers

It's sort of touching and the animation is super sexy, but Finding Nemo is also formulaic and padded like a grade sixer's bra. You can see the ending about a mile away, but they had to keep heaping poo poo on like Nemo getting caught in the fishing net so it could run 100 minutes.

Three.

Great animation and voice acting. One step above the typical Disney family story, but it's certainly as formulaic and tacky as you'd expect (it's just not groan-worthy). Some good jokes aimed at the older audience but not nearly as many as some other films have pulled off (Shrek). I think it's pretty ridiculous that it's in the top 250 movies of all time, and it's beyond me how someone could rate it as "5.5 - the best movie I've ever seen" (unless they were 6 and had seen 20 movies).

It's a solid 4, but if I was a kid it'd be 5.

DON'T CLOSE SH/SC THREADS
Pixar movies are always great...they are very well done. This particular one may not be as good as toy story, in my opinion, but still one of the more enjoyable films of the year.

4/5

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Pixar could do an animated movie about a block of peat moss and I'd be first in line.

I liked it. The 5.1 sound mix is very well done for those with a surround sound system, check out the submarine seen.

Nice try, asshole

Ellen DeGeneres really makes this movie. She plays her character perfectly and provides most of the laughs. The animation was gorgeous of course. But the story was kinda blah, especially at the beginning. A solid, but not amazing, film for Pixar. Rating: 4
