Seeing as how it's summer and I have plenty of free time, I started LoGH yesterday and finished the second movie a few minutes ago. It's a great show so far and I deeply admire the premise and tone.
The music really goes a long way to giving the space battles a feeling of grandeur, and I can appreciate the slow pace of the show (though there were times when I would skip 3 or 4 seconds ahead just to get to the next line of dialogue).

If there's any complaint I could have, it's that the space ships seem to explode a little too easily from laser fire and simple hull piercings...But how could I complain about that? Explosions make any battle better! So I have no complaints.

I'll be starting with Episode 3 now. I'm excited! Thank you for convincing me to watch this show ADTRW. :)

At first I didn't like Bittenfeld, but as the show went on he kinda grew on me. His tactics are aggressive, but not to the point of stupidity.

I just saw episode 26. Truly incredible, I never saw that coming. Mind blown. That's the best way to do that I've ever seen.

I really thought they were setting Kircheis up to eventually start a civil war against Reinhard.

That's an interesting perspective. I never considered that things could have gone that way, but it would've made some juicy drama.

I love Count Mariendorf because even though he obviously supports Reinhardt and benefits from his patronage, he doesn't seem to get swept up in the awe other characters hold him in and several times you can tell that inwardly he's rolling his eyes at Reinhardt's inability to just act like a normal person.

I just hope I can still have my LOGH drinking game of “drink every time the empire is toasting a glass of wine, and every time the alliance pounds down straight whiskey or spiked tea/coffee”

Julian rules. Even if he had nothing else interesting going for him, just on the merit of being a former spy I would totally read his biography.
