Great film if you have the patience and concentration to appreciate it. The first third is a little too slow though - once they reach the Belafonte the film picks up. I worry that the budget was just too high for a film of this type. This is a small-budget quasi-experimental film made with a large mainstream budget....it could blow up in his face, to the detriment of his career. Strangely, it feels very much like a play written by Max Fischer.
