Directed by: Frank Nissen Starring: Jim Cummings, John Fiedler, Nikita Hopkins, Ken Sansom, Kyle Stanger When a Heffalump is thought to be causing late night mischief in Pooh Corner, Pooh and friends form a lynch mob and venture into Heffalump Hollow to capture one of the beasts and bring it to justice. The Roo-centric storyline is quick to deliver heavy handed messages about growing up too quickly and racial tolerance, and all the denizens of the Hundred Acre Woods learn to accept the changing makeup of their society. This pure-Disney movie captures none of the magic in A.A. Milne's original works and it provides absolutely no substance for anyone over the age of six. The animation is passable but certainly not groundbreaking. The voicework is pretty good and some of the jokes are almost chuckle-worthy, but overall the characters feel uninspired and empty due to the cookie-cutter storyline. The worst part of the movie is the original music by Carly Simon which seems to be stream-of-consciousness warbling about whatever is going on in the story at the time. These terrible musical interludes are played at twice the volume of the rest of the audio track and will leave your ears bleeding in terror. Pooh's Heffalump Movie will keep young kids occupied during its hour-long run but has no other redeeming qualities. It should've been direct-to-video or direct-to-Disney Channel. RATING: 2 PROS: Shuts kids up and might teach them a few values. CONS: WHERE THE gently caress IS OWL?! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407121/
