A weird thing to think about is how the record setting Veyron was 1200hp with an 8L V16. I feel like that kind of power would be easy with a block like that. I bet you the whole car won't cost $1.7 million either.

Production car. That means fully road legal in quantity, emissions, safety, etc. The Veyron was also designed to do 250mph over and over again, assuming you could change tires fast enough.

The Veyron doesn't need its engine rebuilt every 1000 miles.

Falconer has been making LS-based V12s for years. I think the V12LS guys are fairly new by comparison. Falconer also had these: https://falconerengines.com/irl_street_v8.php Don't know if they're still available, though.

I wish I know how much weight it lost just by cleaning it. I bet roughly the weight of the paint.

I'm surprised they kept the same arm geometry/axle length. Its not like a custom axle shaft is really that expensive as this project goes and the arm can be home made.

No idea, it's been how many loving years since this started?

*edit: 6 years hence why I'm asking. I just don't remember the driveshafts getting lopped down or anything else being made narrower to fit a teeny Mini bodyshell. I mean thinking about it they must have done but 6 loving years is a long time.

I honestly don't remember much outside of fender flares and chopping the driveshaft. Maybe some tweaks to the uprights in the front to fit the steering.

That was fairly early in the build process, no idea how many episodes or years ago. Remember all that stuff was on the car a couple episodes ago, they just stripped it all off to send the chassis to the body shop.

I need them to do a fuckin' recap video... I'm sat there watching a series on Netflix and there's recaps from week to week telling me poo poo I haven't forgot because I saw it literally moments ago but Binky is over half a decade old and there's no recaps?

A lot of angle grinders, CAD (Cardboard Aided Design), getting the funk out, brackets, folded metal, welders and tea

(The rear floor pan of the Celica was recreated inside the Mini shell, towers and all. Front end was built around the front suspension with tweaks to the steering as required)
