I'll start with Solo II, and work my way up to the actual road races. It's rather hard to get into in the way of information, but compared to any other open wheel racing, it's amazingly cheap. And they're VW's, essentially, so they're instantly loving awesome.

220whp out of a 3.6L engine doesn't seem all that high, considering it's a 2 stroke, but then again, 360lb-ft tq probably makes for an interesting day at the beach.

Yeah, my guess is that 360lf-ft tq is more than enough to drag yourself and that rail up a dune, and I highly doubt those skinny little tires will put down much more power to the ground.

Then again, it does seem to be an awfully low amount of power for such an engine.

Lack of air inside the tank for it to explode, and addition to that I'd imagine there would be some sort of safety system to prevent such a thing. It looked like the top part of the tank on the semi was all that lit. Some sort of pump system? I don't think you can just unscrew the top and look inside the whole tank.
