in a 3rd party book on D&D immortality, one of the few ways to retain intelligence in undead is to give them a shot of postive energy just as they are created. Doing so should attach the soul and intelligence to the undead.

I assume a cleric can remove curse or dispel or something of that nature. If I had my players guide handy I could look up the spell that got used.

I used to enjoy Bob and George honestly, mainly the way the characters would gently caress with each other when it came to time travel mechanics. But man in retrospect it sucks. Then ending really sucked, too. The whole arc was mary sueing his characters versus another character that out mary-sues them. It's over now though, and I like the subcomic MSPaint Masterpieces by another guy on that site though.

The way he portrays fights is generally two people talking at each other saying they are GOING to fight, and then eventually maybe one of them actually does something.

But that's incredibly off topic.

I don't suppose you could give me a quick summary of what happened, because I don't want to go back and read it, but knowing that it's ended is bugging me to know.

Well I might as well keep the rest of it. In the first OOTS comic, I'm still not sure why the Belkar's weapons shrink.

Okay in 3.0 a halfling could use regular sized wweapons. IN 3.5 they had to use small weapons for their small hands. Humans used Medium sized weapons and orges used Large sized weapons.

I would be pretty bummed out if they pulled an "oh, they suddenly all got more powers and now have slightly updated costumes because of plot device." I realize that one of the best parts of the comic is inside jokes related to dnd rules that make no sense, but when they did that in 8-bit theater it was really lame.

Anyway, Rich is a great writer and I'm sure he'll come up with something good.

so, what? While playing through FF1 you thought it was really lame to go from a fighter to a knight or a black mage to a black wizard? You could have very well skipped that part. Of course, you would not have access to alot of the upcoming weapons and armor and your stats /hp would be less than they would be.

How the hell can you call it lame when it's an integral part of the story?

I dunno. This is turning into The Wheel Of Time really fast. As of now, we have four entirely separate story threads: Roy in Heaven, Haley on the run, Elan doing the Battlestar Galactica thing, and Xykon in Azure City. This is the kind of thing that Robert Jordan did--spawn a new plot thread when he gets bored of the current one (or, worse, catches up to the end of his prewritten notes for the plot.) And it drove everyone crazy, and made people drop the series.

It's not like I'm going to quit reading, but the path has some bad precedents.

He isnt going nutso. This is perfectly in line with his personality, only its his personality under extreme stress, with no sleep, and racked with guilt and shame over his own failures despite being an incredibly powerful magic user.

Even so, attacks of opportunity happen before whatever event that triggered them completes (so, for example, you can't trip someone and then trip them again on the opportunity attack when they try to stand), so he'd still get Sneak Attack damage since Haley wouldn't get a chance to kill the flanker until after his free shot at her.

In conclusion, I'm a tremendous nerd, and this comic was funny.

She had Initiative. A round is about 6 seconds, so really it could all be happening at the same time. It's DnD rules set in a reality.

Simplier but not as dramatic. Knowing what is going to happen to them, and then knowing there is nothing at all you can do to stop it would be horrifying.

I had this happen once in a DnD game we were running. We were fighting a Behir and it took off when it's health was low, so the wizard was all " aww hell no" Cast Fly and went after it. Ended up getting swallowed by the thing(but he cast acid protection earlier) and he shapechanged into this 4 armed gorrila thing.
4 attacks round at like a 26 str bonus and he ripped right out of that things stomach.
