Chemmy posted:I got my 42" Panasonic plasma for $1100. In your budget you can definitely afford a good plasma. Most people agree that Pioneer > Panasonic > * as far as plasmas go, so look at either of those manufacturers. Samsung's latest plasma's are and he should consider those as well. Their 50" plasmas are a good buy. pickitup13 posted:Any suggestions/comparisons on these three models would be highly appreciated. I'd really like to know what you guys think I should get. I'm definitely leaning towards the Sharp or LG at this point, but still don't know what to get. Again, I'll be using it mainly for gaming, but will still watch a good amount of cable TV and dvd's. I wouldn't go with any of those, instead I'd get the Sharp LC37GP1U. It's a new model that's been built for gaming according to Sharp. It's got 3 HDMI ports, 2 component, and dvi so you're covered for games and dvds. It's 1080p so you can use it for 360/PS3 and HD DVDs when you get them. If I were buying a TV today that's the one I'd get. It's a little more than the three you're looking at but I think it's worth it. eric fucked around with this message at 06:04 on May 7, 2007 |

Any suggestions? Since S-Video is limited to 480i I have been looking at some of my options and since the TV has a VGA input I decided to get a DVI-VGA cable and directly connect the videocard's DVI output to my TV's VGA in. This is where the problems start. I can't find any info on your TV but does it have any dvi or hdmi inputs? If it does you'd probably get better results going dvi>dvi or dvi>hdmi.

The biggest problem I see is that they are refurbished. So what I'm trying to figure out is if these TVs are that great of a deal or would it just be better to save up a bit more to buy a better new TV. So what do ya guys think? Don't even think about it. RCA TVs are poo poo and that's why no one sells or buys them any more.

Also keep in mind, even though they look the same check model numbers when walmart shopping. Sometimes walmart will have special models from the manufacturer, they could have less features, or even be last years model in this years chassis. A lot of times stores will have special models made for them with hardly any changes (sometimes none at all except model number) so they don't have to price match other stores.
