In about two weeks, I'm going to be purchasing the Toshiba 20hl67 LCD. My personal preference of quality and connectivity and other little things hit a nice price range with it. Since it's going to be used mostly for moving around from place to place (rooms, houses, and so on) the 20" screen is exactly what I need. One question about that. What would the actual screen measurements be (length and width)? It's 20" measured diagonally, and it's a 16:9 ratio. Just curious about it.

I'm attempting to set a Verizon FiOS remote for someone who just received their service. I looked at the selection of codes Verizon provided for their remote for Sylvannia TVs, but none of them worked. The television in question is a Sylvannia SSL15D5. I tried Philips TV codes (I read off of a message board that Sylvannia uses Philips parts), and they didn't work either. If anyone could provide the input code to get the remote to work would be much appreciated.

I just purchased the Toshiba 20HL67. I am having problems with the audio in (left and right stereo inputs) that is under the HDMI input. What I am trying to do is connect my XBox 360 with a VGA cable to the TV. Instead of using the stereo audio converter (the 3.5mm audio pin), I decided to plug the red and white audio cable into the audio in. However, I cannot receive any sound from it. However, I do receive sound when I use the 3.5mm converting pin. Is there any way I can use the stereo audio in along with the VGA input, or must I use the 3.5mm pin?

The last TV I purchased, the Toshiba 20HL67, I do not have connected to a set top box. It is directly connected to the coaxial signal from Comcast. Because this TV isn't meant to be used for TV broadcasts, I'm not that upset in video quality. However, after I go over channel 80 or so, I start receiving simultaneously station broadcasts such as channel 80.1, 80.2, and so on. My question is if there is a website that lists which channel is which? Some of them correspond to local channels 1-13, while others are completely new channels.

For 2008, has there been any announcements about TVs using Cablecard 2.0/iDCR technology?pliable posted:For those with the Samsung LNT4071F: This TV auto upconverts, right? I'm trying to do a test and comparing Ratatouille on DVD and Blu-ray (DVD is connected via Component from an Xbox 360, while Blu-ray is connected via HDMI from a PS3), but the DVD looks like it's not even being upscaled. Is the P.Size function the upconverter? Thanks for the info! DVDs do no upscale using component inputs. It's a standard set by the DVD consortium. If your XBox does not have HDMI out, try VGA out. VGA output allows upscaling.

Does anyone know whether Dish Network's HD set-top box has HDMI out? Does it just have component out? If anyone can provide all the outputs it has, that'd be great. Thanks in advance.

This is a question regarding DVI-HDMI cables. I just bought a new desktop and am waiting for shipping, and I will be using my 20" HDTV (1366 x 768) as a monitor in order to conserve room and space. The VGA input is crippled by the manufacturer, it will only accept up to 1024 x 768. So I will be using the HDMI input. My question: Will HDMI accept a resolution value of 1366 x 768 or must I set the resolution output at 1280 x 720?

A friend is going to be getting a Samsung LN46A550. He only has access to Comcast cable and will be using their HD service. He plans to get just their HD box, not the DVR. What outputs does it have? I'm pretty sure it lacks an HDMI output (only on their DVRs). Does it have DVI, VGA, and component outputs? What about audio out?

I never saw a 360 or PS3 connected to a Samsung 6 series. Does the games flip the gently caress out because it's refreshing at 120hz or something?

John Jhonson posted:As for the tv itself, does anyone have any experience? (Samsung LN40A530) That was probably my favorite HDTV of 2008 when it came to pricing and features and when compared against equivalent HDTVs from other manufacturers.
