yeah, I think we'd really need some other lyrics, even just a couple words, in order to narrow it down from half her discography

There's a song I've been hearing everywhere that I can't identify. It sounds like TV on the Radio's Family Tree--especially the strings' melody. It was also played as the New York Mets were being announced along the baseline at the first game at Citifield. Any ideas?

Pluto first came to mind to me too but really that could be so many Bjork songs. The guy should just listen through all her albums because Bjork owns.

Hey, I heard a song on some college station last night that has been bugging me all day. It was long-- at least seven minutes, I want to say closer to ten or fifteen-- and fairly avant-garde sounding. There was some very simple accordion melody in the foreground, and one or two very hard-to-distinguish female vocalists, and some ambient percussion. I remember in particular what sounded like a grandfather clock ticking very slowly.

I am trying to figure out a song I heard in a coffee shop earlier that sounded like a distorted version of Ode to Joy and its lyrics were talking about war and the media. It was not a metal song but had a indie feel to it.

I apparantly missed this thread because I suck: but I wonder if any of you could help me out.I don't know the name or can't give you a sample, but I think it might be well known:

I usually hear it when a story about "medieval" time is about to happen, like opening to a medieval story, or just a parody of medieval time. It's basically string instruments only- and maybe a flute? I can't think of the last specific time I've heard it, but I know it was on an episode of Animaniacs. It's soothing, so it's usually used to open up to a story, and is not used in fight scenes.

I had the song once many years ago, but lost it, for some reason, leaf and golden comes to mine as the title, but can't find anything.

Ok, so I need a song. It's about weed, the chorus just goes "Marijuana, marijuaaaaana," It's got a kind of chanty vocal part, like a bunch of people are singing it in a bar. And at least one part of it was in Spanish. I think the whole thing probably was. Any ideas?

There's this one video from the 90s or early 2000s where a band in playing in a gym, and they keep cloning or duplicating until the gym is filled with them, can't remember anything else about it.

Trying to remember the name of a song that would have been on rock radio in maybe 1994 with a bunch of spoken word parts that went something like "Anger... the [something] of a definition." The guy starts off whispering it and increases in volume over time (presumably because he's so angry). I think this was the chorus? There was a bunch of other music and words too but that was the really clutch part. Raphandz I know you know this if you're reading!! OK thanks yall.

There's a music video that I think aired on Beavis & Butt-Head ca. 1994-1996. It took place in a convenience store, might have had a blue tint, with footage from a security camera or a fisheye lens...

It's not "Been Caught Stealing" or "1979," although I'm pretty sure it was alternative rock.

downset. the song is called "anger" but the best song on the album was definitely the song called "downset" as well because it explains that the band members are, in fact, on the come-up to say some

Honestly I thought for sure that the poster WAS thinking of "Been Caught Stealing" but, yeah, this could be it as well -- the video definitely had a blue tint throughout and iirc the shots where the singer is sitting inside the shopping cart were done in a fish-eye style.

This is an "help me identify an album" rather than song, but I'm trying to remember the group/album. The cover was either black or a very dark blue with either a suit of Samurai armour, or just a samurai helmet showing. The genre would probably be electronica, but I can't be more precise than that. I feel that the name of the thing is on the tip of my tongue, but I can find any hints looking through google.

It's a pretty vague description, but it's making GBS threads me. And I want to say LCD Soundsystem, even though I know it isn't and the album would have been out years before LCD Soundsystem began.

[edit] and it's not Jazztronik - Samurai.

[2nd edit] It's Rhythm and Stealth from Leftfield.

I forgot...how BIG...
Long shot but here goes-

This has been bugging me for years now but my friend and I know this song exists.

It's a slower electro song with a woman singing and the lyrics are something as follows:

"When I'm asleep I don't know if I'm dreaming or if I'm really awake.
And when I get up I don't know if I'm really awake or if I'm still dreaming."

I probably heard it in the mid to late 90's and cannot for the life of me find who sang it.

edit: NM, I finally found it! Dream by Forest for the Trees
