This is a well-known rock song, but I've never understood a word of the lyrics. It's fast-paced, sung by a man who's kind of slurring the lyrics, he sings about a sentence's worth, there's three guitar chords, a few more words, and then the same chords. I'm pretty sure it's a very famous band, I just don't know anything to help describe the song better. Also, who sang the version of The Moon Was Yellow in this video?

This is a shot in the dark, I'm looking for another song or maybe a band. I was listening to this song today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGHjGfA1nIA And starting at 4:03 you hear this warmer guitar(?) sound in the background doing small melodies that keeps going till the end of the song. This sound/melody sounds so amazingly familliar but i can't put my finger on it, anyone know of songs/band that vaguely sound like that guitar thing ? Thanks!

I think it's some combination of an acoustic(?) guitar that's being overdriven a bit and heavily compressed, with a tremolo effect. So you end up with a powerful, slightly distorted tone with a lot of sustain, and without any pick attack on the notes - they just kinda pop immediately into existence or flow from the previous ones, legato style Anyway I don't know about that exact sound (the melody seems to be following the vocals?), but bands who use Ebows or actual bows will get a similar tone - here's a pretty famous song that uses an ebow in the lower and upper registers. Sort of like a synth cello https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cnIQHJ169s

I'm having a hard time focusing on just the e-bow/guitar, but 9 times out of 10 when you hear a melody that sounds familiar, yet hard to place, it's probably Pachelbel's Canon, which has been used as a melody in just about every genre of music. It could be a slowed down version of that, or something else that's very common.

And it has to be a song before 2003 also, whatever song from this trailer for True Crime: Streets of LA is anyways. \/ Edit: It's definitely something before 2003 that much I can tell you, and certainly along the grunge period. Other than that I know bands that HAVE this style but none come to mind. Not Cunbersome by Seven Mary Three, I dunno them and it's not that song, but I hope you can find it, I've been trying to find this song for like 11 years. I think the problem is that if it is grunge era, it's a pretty wide net. Everybody was slurring their lines and Veddering all over the place. Like, as soon as you said you never understood the lyrics I thought it'd be Yellow Ledbetter, and then after you said it was fast-paced I thought "well, maybe it's Go instead." ...it's not Go, right?

For certain definitions of "fast paced" could even be "Even Flow". Probably the most mumblingest and Vedderest song of the Pearl Jam catalog.

Whenever I listen to that True Crime track it just sounds like a knockoff of Linkin Park's In The End. It's definitely more in that range of late 90s/early 2000s more heavily produced rock (with electronic and rap and poo poo thrown in) than plain old garage-y early 90s grunge.

Yeah I was going to say that, exact same song. I haven't listened to any Linkin Park albums so maybe it's on there somewhere, or a b-side to the single maybe?

On the right track musically though, I checked all across Youtube and nothing fits it, it DOES sound similiar to their style, the piano playing and such does feel very like them, but it's not. Anyone got any other suggestions?
