Chorus has "go to the city" or "in the city."

The word "move" might be in the chorus as well. Perhaps "move to the city."

Maybe Al Green?

Nope. A lot more overproduced and not jazzy at all. It could have also been from the early 1980s.

The chorus' words are mostly smashed together, but "city"'s syllables are stretched out.

(And it isn't Joe Walsh's In the City but had a bit of that same gloss to its production style.)

None of those. It was a white guy singing it.

My own grip of the chorus of the song is beginning to fade having not heard it in a few days. Probably a top 20 song in its day, but nothing that made any real impact (because it's overly melodramatic). I listen to the station frequently enough and I'll probably catch again it.

Trying to remember a music video, can't remember anything about the song but it might have been nu metal. The video had the band being chased through a bunch of buildings, possibly in Miami since I was reminded of it by the chase scene in Bad Boys.

I don't think that's it, I remember the band running through buildings while people inside were going about their business, like how they run through the photoshoot in Bad Boys.

No one can stop the movies.
Heard it in a gas station. They usually play En Vogue and the like, and what I heard was in that vein but less bombastic. It had what sounded like this nifty palm-muted guitar rhythm and the (probably) woman singer was in the upper range but almost whispery. Think the lyrics started off with something like, "Don't write another love song when you don't love me."

Any help would be appreciated because my toe was tapping nicely.

It's apparently called "Lights" by "Don C" according to the movie credits, but I cannot find this song anywhere. It's like this composer/singer doesn't even exist and this is actually from someone else. Any ideas how I can find this song?

Sammy Davis Jr. Jr. is also in repose.
There's a dude named Don Crawley that's friends with Kanye West. The Don C that did the music has two other IMDb credits that have connections to Kanye West-related films, so it might be him. I don't know how much that will help you, though.

Here's one that I remember really distinctly except for 99% of the lyrics. Which is a problem. I heard it on one of my NPR station's music segments back in '14 or '15. Deep voiced guy, sometimes speaking as much as singing. The first part of the song is about two(?) sisters, one of which is found murdered by a lake. He says the Native Americans called it the lake of ___, I forget what. That's all I remember. I think the song in general was more about the lake than the sisters, but I might be wrong.

A couple of years ago I watched a youtube video with a asian song, cannot find it for the life of me.

It was like a traditional (or folk) song of sorts, live performance, with a female singer in a white dress (I think). She looked like a disney princess. I also remember another lady with a violin there.

Don't know anything about the lyrics or the particular country. I do remember though that the singer floored me completely, and that the background at the studio(?) was blue. Also, in some parts of the video the camera paned to the audience showing reactions, or something like that.

Can anybody help?

That is not it, but many thanks (I rather enjoyed it).

I only watched the song I am searching once, a friend showed it to me when I was at his home. I remember that I was floored by the performance and wanted to go home and watch more from her, but then I forgot to :v:

Let me see if I can help some more.

I think that it was something like a contest of sorts. Japanese or Korean. I remember that the singer started low, then proceeded to slay everyone in the audience for a couple of minutes, and then finished low again. I was destroyed (being drunk helped). I really need to find this again.

The video had english and spanish subtitles (as well as the asian ones). I don't think I remember more.

I read some more about her. No auto-tune, that IS her voice/pitch (and that was a live contest too). Holy gently caress.

She is 40 year old gospel singer, that mainly sings at churches and charity events or sth. Although she is being singing for 20 years or so, she does it mainly for religious purposes, so she is not mainstream. Once in a while, she goes to singing contests, doing covers of other songs (after re-arranging them).

Here are two - more fitting to her genre - from a live competition called immortal songs or sth.

Wake up with the Kin-OH GOD WHAT IS THAT?!
Hey guys this isn't so much help me identify a song as it is help me find a place to listen to a specific artist!!

I'm sure some of you are familiar with the Long Mouth Castle, a solo artist who does super chill instrumental music. He posted his albums here years ago but sadly I lost the mp3s a few years back and would love nothing more than to dive back into one of his albums, the Tiger and the Child.

His SoundCloud seems to be inactive and the links to the free album downloads are empty.

Can anyone here help? I even tried looking for a place where I could purchase the tracks but no dice. I guess it was a pretty obscure album.

E: I managed to find my favorite track, I crash landed and now I am stuck here, on some dodgy russian site that is probably hacking my laptop as we speak: http://mp3vk.co/?mp3=the+long+mouth+castle

That said I would really love to get the rest of the albums! Wonder if the artist still posts in SA...

Help me out here. I'm pretty sure about 2 years ago, I found a song in the indie megathread that was bluegrass-y, and the video was a main singer with multiple arms coming out of him to play all the banjos and instruments and it started off panning down, by the time the video ended, at the bottom there were dead girls under the porch. The song was super good, but I can't for the life of me find it anymore.

Please help, I've had this song stuck in my head for years. Its just the intro. Its a kind of dance / electro esque song, sort of Har Mar superstar, Royksopp, that kind of mood. It's an (I think) isloated synth doing a descending 'dun dun duddlede duhhhh... -duddlede duhhh' kinda thing, (its maybe like CC, pause then one octave higher C, B, A# G#, but I'm bad at music, its not that its just close to that) and then a vocodery voice says "lets get it started"

...And thats it. Thats as much as I can remember.

It plagues my mind so much. Thanks for any and all help.

I'm hoping someone can help. I've been trying to remember the name of a band from the mid 90s or so. I'd probably classify them as metal/alt-metal. They had a similar sound to Helmet, but heavier. One of the defining things about this band was that the lead singer was also the drummer. I think they were based out of the US. They had at least one album released. I know it's not a lot to go buy :shobon:
