This a repost from the other thread. I'm posting it here because this one seems to be a bit more active, and because it came into my head again and it's driving me loving crazy. I'm pretty sure it was called "Dig It", or something along those lines. The chorus was the words "Dig It" over and over again (I think). The artist was a guy, rather than a band (in name at least, there was a whole band playing in the song). It was a simple guitar riff, sort of blues-rock sounding. I seem to remember the music video having something to do with a fly, flying around while the band was playing. This would have been sometime between 1998-2002. I don't even think it was a particularly good song. I just want to know what the gently caress it is at this point. One person suggested Dig In by Lenny Kravitz, but it definitely isn't that. Whoever it is, I haven't come across their name recently from what I can tell.

Nog64 posted:OK, I hear this lovely song all the time on the radio (Chicago, mostly Q101 I believe). It's this whiny emo kid yelling about how to dump a boyfriend or something, then it goes to crappy chorus, then a verse about looking pretty. I like to think of it as the whiny, highschool version of Insitutionalized. There wasn't much instrumentation, and the vocals were as really loud yell. Sounds like Popular by Nada Surf?

The 3:24 part sounds a lot like Pruit Igoe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t29fgA5M7VA around 3:15). Well the first half at least. But yeah, his music really does all sound like that (and is awesome).

So here's one that has been driving me nuts for a little while now. I had a CD with a bunch of random indie pitchfork-type stuff burned on it about five years ago and there was a song on it I liked but never bothered to look up the artist. Here are the details that I can remember: - I'm pretty sure the word Uber was in the total somewhere. It is not Califoria Uber Alles. - The song opened with a quick video-game sounding synth part, then the guitars and drums kicked in. It is an upbeat-ish rock song. - The chorus had something like "we stumble and then we fall" or something like that in it - At some point the words "sieg-heil" appear. I realize that makes it sound kind of white-powerish but I'm pretty sure it was just a dumb rock song, unless there's something I totally missed in the lyrics in which case boy would I feel dumb. - This was around 2005/2006, and I think the song was pretty new at the time. I've googled high and low and I've got nothing. And I'm pretty sure searching for those lyrics has me on some sort of government watch-list now.

I'm trying to find a song I heard the other day, unfortunately I don't have a lot of details. I only caught the last minute or so. It reminded me of the XX in terms of simplicity, but had more of a psychedelic vibe to it. There was a bass not that was being hit, and a guitar would strum a chord. The bass note stayed the same the whole time while the guitar strummed the same three or so chords. There were some really understated vocals. The drums weren't much beyond a kick drum and maybe some snare. I think it faded out. If anybody can figure it out based on those sparse details you'll be my hero.

I heard a song playing in a store a while back that I haven't been able to identify. I would classify it as pop-rock with a grungy sound to it, pretty upbeat sounding. The only lyrics I remember were along the lines of "when you're high I'm high, when you're low I'm low", which has proven ungoogleable.

There's a song that's on a DJ mix I downloaded a few years ago I'd like to find the name of. I recorded the audio of it in my car a bit earlier: https://clyp.it/geb5aqon I've found setlists for this DJ for a bunch of other mixes but I've never been able to find this one specifically, and since it's instrumental I have no idea how to google it. I tried google's music listening search and it found nothing.

Erebus posted:Is the mix you got this from still available somewhere? Often if you can identify the other songs, you can find the setlist they're on, then look for the mystery song from there. That's a good suggestion but I've already googled like crazy. I know the dude who did the and another song/artists on the mix and I just can't find that one specific set anywhere. I don't think this stuff was well documented.

I was in a Russian owned/themed bar recently that was playing a lot of music with videos. There was one in particular I really liked but I can't find it. The video alternated between a bunch of different shots of individual women all crying. The video would show prices for things like their makeup and jewlery. Someone who understood the lyrics said the song had something to do with material things not making you happy or something. The video looked well produced and like it came out relatively recently (like the last decade for sure). I don't remember the song itself that well so I can't even describe the genre, other than it sounded like contemporary alt-rock/dance/pop.

Heard a song at a bar the other night that I want to find. - House track - The vocals were a man's voice, not singing but more talking rhythmically to the song - It reminded me a lot of this song, the overall vibe of it and the rhythm of the vocals https://youtu.be/kWNHvIt9ryk - Everything else the dj played was very mainstream/hit stuff so it probably isn't super obscure
