I might not even recognise this song if somebody manages to figure out what it is, but I'm looking for a song that was popular last October or November. It played on 94.7 in Portland a few times and I thought for sure that it was Interpol but the DJ said otherwise. There may have been a line about cutting or bleeding or the beach or killing his girlfriend. Sorry it's so vague, but I can assure you that whoever it was sounded almost EXACTLY like Interpol. The other song I'm looking for was in a commercial for (probably Dell) laptops and every scene featured a different colour with a different laptop.

What is the name of the song in the episode of Scrubs where everyone tries to ask Dr. Kelso for a favour because it's his anniversary, and he can't refuse anybody's requests? It's the one played when he comes in in a good mood and dances around. It sounds kind of like Mambo Italiano, I think.

bigperm posted:These are the songs from that episode, see if any of them are it. Thanks! I have another one. I heard it at about noon today on 94.7 in Portland. It was a live version of a slow, acoustic, very happy song sung by a male. The main gist of the song was about staying inside because it's raining and ignoring the alarm and cuddling in bed, I think. The last few lines of the song were lyrics to Stir It Up by Bob Marley. It was a pleasant little song, but for some reason it's not on their playlist on the KNRK website.

It sounds so random for a guy to be singing about it, but I can't think of anything else he could be saying. There's also some breathy voices saying "Mineral Rice" too. It's also pretty slow and sappy sounding, in that 80's sort of way. LOL, maybe Peter Gabriel, "In Your Eyes"? Edit: Ahahaha, mineral rice.

I think I know which one you're talking about, but I really don't know who does it. The guy talks about how she drove up Mulholland Dr, right? They play it on 94.7 sometimes.

I think it's from their later stuff but I'm not sure. It's almost pop-punky but kind of dancy too and it might have a I-V-VI-IV chord progression or something similar. I've gone through their top 50 on last.fm and I'm pretty sure it's not any of those. I don't know anything about the chord progressions, but is it Inbetween Days? It's pretty similar to Close to Me.

Hopefully somebody knows this, since I know both the band and the song title. I had a copy of Broken Social Scene's Shampoo Suicide on mp3 many moons ago then my computer crashed and I lost it. It wasn't the version off the album--seems to me I remember it being a live version, maybe from Detroit, but I can't find anything like that anywhere. It was way better than the album version. I hope somebody knows.

I heard a song on the radio today, and I'm sure it's a newer song. I only know one song by the Shins, but it sounded kinda like them, I guess. The beat kind of goes bom bom bom bom bom bom baaa The only lyrics I remember were "but I'd like to think that I'm making the most of it" and "days get shorter and the nights get long" or something along those lines. I'm sure this one should be easy to get. Thank you.

Okay, I heard a song on alternative 94.7 this morning and have no idea who it is. It's pretty upbeat, but the (male) singer is kind of whiney. The first words are something like "she don't know something something" with stress/whine on "know". The last line of the verse before the chorus is "you know she just don't caaaaare", then during the chorus a guy is sort of singing along with the tune and going "doo, doo-doo, doo-doo doo doo doo, doo, doo-doo, doo-doo doo doo doo" etc. If it helps any, I believe the song is somewhere in between 7 am and 11 am on this page: http://www.mediabase.com/whatsong/whatsong.asp?var_s=075078082075045070077&MONDTE=6%2F7%2F2008 Edit: Actually, I think that list is for the June 7th, so no wonder I can't find it. Now I'm wondering why they only have 06/06, 06/07, then 06/09. That hardly makes any sense. Edit: FOUND IT. I need help with identifying an artist since I am drawing a blank on the name. I saw a video a few months ago of a little tiny live show with Elliott Smith doing some duets with some chick. She was in a band of her own that I think had a name that might have been a type of bird or maybe something with "ruby" in it? She had a really soft, spidery voice just like his, and she was a little chubby. They sounded really great together and were doing all Elliott's songs. Who was it?

Unfortunately, it was on the store radio and the volume was low so I couldn't get anything else out of it. I believe it's from the '70s or maybe even '60s.
