I've heard this song a few times on some "new music" radio shows, and didn't catch the name. The only thing that I know about it is that it repeats a line like "I can feel the radio waves" over and over towards the end. The lead singer sounds kind of like the guy from Maximo Park, but I'm pretty sure it's not them. Thanks for your help!

EDIT: So it turns out I'm an idiot, it's "Karaoke Plays" by Maximo Park. I even own that album, I think my brain must have just shut down.

I heard a great song on a jukebox last night, and couldn't figure out what it was.. It sounded a lot like "Let's Twist Again" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5PqydMA1kA ) but was clearly more modern, a little distorted, and had some indistinct vocals. It sounded a little like something that the Exploding Hearts might do, but less extreme. I know this isn't much to go on, but does anyone have any idea what this might be?

Just a guess: Plastic Bertrand - Ca Plane Pour Moi

could be the sort of original Elton Motello - Jet Boy Jet Girl
Both of these are definitely in the right direction, it was this kind of sound, but the melody was almost exactly like "Let's Twist Again." Any other ideas? If not, at least I got a couple of cool new songs out of it.

I heard a song at a bar, and I'm hoping someone here can help. It sounded like it was the Rolling Stones, and it had the Be My Baby beat, to the point where I thought it was some alternate take of Just Like Honey until I heard (probably?) Mick Jagger. Does such a song exist?

I went through my collection of about 90 Stones songs, and the closest one I could find to your description is Memo From Turner.
A cool song that I'm glad I know about, but sadly not it.

Again, great song, but not it.

A couple of classic rock songs that came to mind with a similar beat:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cO_brEreGLw Leader of the Pack - Twisted Sister

Neither of them sound particularly like the Rolling Stones but they're also both covers, so maybe it might be worth looking into other versions of them?
Well, you've sent me off on a really fun youtube trip of covers of Phil Spector songs, but I think I would have recognized it if it were a cover like this.

I have no idea, but it sounds like a pretty kick-rear end song.

If it was a newer song, given those allusions, it sounds like something the Brian Jonestown Massacre would do. Not sure which song it might be, though (if it's even them, which it may well not be).
I'm glad someone else thinks so! Brian Jonestown Massacre is a really good idea too - I actually wouldn't be too surprised if it were them. I do remember also hearing the Reigning Sound played there, so newish cool bands were certainly on the playlist. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I heard something the other night that Google sound search couldn't identify, so I thought I'd check in. All I could really make out was "I'm coming out" repeated over and over toward the end of the song. Drums sounded a bit like something off of Darklands or Automatic by the Jesus and Mary Chain, and it had that kind of that same feeling of stolen bits of other songs that you hear all through their music. It was definitely way lower on the noise/distortion side than them though. The verses(?) had a little line that made me think of Country Roads, pitch-wise (like "to the place where I belong" in pitches, not in words). The jukebox where I was had plenty of punk/new wave stuff, so it could be something fairly obscure within that style. Any thoughts?

I swear I've heard the melody from the chorus to Bitterblue by Cat Stevens somewhere before. Starting from about 0:15 to 0:35. Any thoughts on something that has a vocal melody sounding like this?

I heard I'm A Man by the Spencer Davis group recently, and the descending chords at around 0:30 have been driving me nuts thinking of another song that sounds like them. I'm thinking it's something proto-punk, along the lines of the Stooges, but I could easily be mistaken. Any ideas?

I think you're right - I'm not sure where I pulled the Stooges from, but I could kind of see that the distorted synth tone wouldn't be completely out of place in some Stooges influenced stuff. Although it's definitely possible that Flash Man's music is burned in my brain for how much I played that game. Thanks!

Woke up with part of a song stuck in my head that I can't place. It's the bridge of the song and all the instruments fade out and male singer with a poo poo ton of reverb on his voice is repeating something like "baby baby baby baby baby" five descending notes and five ascending notes
Made me think immediately of Vampire Weekend - Diane Young. The part you're describing could be at 0:42 or 1:59.

I've had something go around in my head since yesterday and I can't figure it out. I think it's a relatively well-known modern song from the same sphere of influence as Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes or even Coldplay. Folksy guitar chords, simply structured. I can't remember any lyrics at all, just the singing melody, which goes something like this:

https://clyp.it/qprhsjxi

I don't think I have the key or tempo entirely right. As far as I know that repeats pretty much throughout, although I think this bit may even be a minor deviation from the regular melody towards the end. No lyrics that I can remember reliably.

I do know this much, I don't even particularly like the song. Can't imagine where I picked it up either. Just drives me nuts that I can't remember more.
At first I thought I was crazy for thinking that sounded like Love Vigilantes by New Order based on your description, but then I remembered that there's a cover by Iron and Wine, so check that out.

There's a song I heard a while back (probably at least a year or two) linked from the forums. As I remember, it was a pretty chilled out electronic song, but not really ambient. It was heavily based around some piano samples, and I remember it started with some samples that sounded like the piano bench being opened and slammed shut. I'm not sure this is much to go on, and I'm going back through my entire youtube history, but I'm hoping someone here will recognize it before I see any more embarrassing videos that I've watched in the past.

e: I found it - it's a bit more ambient than I was remembering, but I don't think my description was way off.

Jon Hopkins - Immunity

I'm trying to find a rock/alternative rock song from the mid to late 2000s. I want to say the song was called The Fight or something similar. The song starts with what sounds like someone introducing a fighter and then there's a simple drum intro before the guitars kick in.
It's from a little earlier, but Fight Test by the Flaming Lips?

At first i thought it was a Leftover Crack song but it doesn't seem to be stop the insanity. I think the real version ends with a hardcore ending thing and a bleh!
For some reason, I'm getting Choking Victim vibes more than Leftover Crack (as if that's a significant difference). I'll have to go through my albums and see if I can find this, because it's sounding really familiar to me.
