I've tried looking for a song every so often- it came up on my friend's Spotify, and we had a "wait is that..." moment- we looked at the name, promptly forgot about it and didn't think about it for a week or so and since then, it's like it never existed. So as best as I could tell it was a cover of the River Lullaby song from Prince of Egypt or had a very very similar but slowed down melody, except with a male singer and in German. It came up in a spotify channel full of german rock and metal if that helps?

No, that's probably in the right direction though- I don't think it was sung that high and the melody of the vocals was close enough to that River Lullaby song that we both spotted it in the middle of a conversation- I can say with 100% certainty that the bit where she sings "Sleep and remember this last lullaby / and I'll be with you when you dream" is at least in the music (I don't speak german).
