Ya know, there are a lot of things that come to mind when people mention the Muppet Babies. I never thought that the lot of them decapitating Shakespeare (I think that's who that is unless it's some obscure tv character I don't recognize) would be one of those. And the fact that someone would actually draw it and post it on the internet for all to see? That, sir, is what is wrong with the internet.

But seriously, why anime? Why are most fanarts done in anime style?

I understand that most people aren't artistic and creative (and neither am I so I am allowed to be cruel here), so therefore they have to loot a style from someone else. But why anime?

At least the no-talent, creativity lacking Battlestar fanart guy stole his style from The Simpsons instead of some Japanese guy I've never heard of.

The flat, simplistic face style allows for drawing pretty people without having to learn a drat thing about facial anatomy. This isn't true of all Japanese cartoon style art, but it is for most of it.

Basically, you can draw all the pretty, long-haired crap you want and not have to pay attention to proportion, anatomy or depth. And that's A-OK, partner.

Also, because fanart and over-the-top anime fanaticism often come from very similar crowds. Not saying all anime fans are obsessive, or that all pasty neckbeards are anime fanatics who think they can draw, but there's a good portion of crossover between the groups.

Hahahaha, holy poo poo. It's not just the absurd choice of subject matter, it's the fact that the chick looks cross-eyed and completely retarded, and the monitor behind him has additional fanart of her. I see this story as some kind of sad Pygmalion tale, where he manages to bring his beloved drawing to life, only to be jaded and disillusioned where the first words out of her slack-jawed mouth are "I LIKE CHOCOMUTT ICE CREAM".
