It's a straightforward fight: the whole crew's facing down Inoshishi and a few Kouma: one Ye Olde Melee-Slasher type and two of the Babby-Is-Formed-By-Spitting variety, one on each side of the building. Basically, this boss fight is a cage match on top of the building that was the centerpiece of the last battle. Our mission statement is simply: [Kasumi]  Please destroy the large-scale demon-driven mechanical soldier, "Immovable Flame Wheel"! ... so, y'know, what else CAN we do?  ----  As usual, once we get the usual preparations: defensive Mountain strategy and shielding Sumire out of the way...  ... we jump straight into the usual "killing just about all the cannon fodder Kouma..."  "... with the power of Maria."   ---- [Ogami] It's one thing to watch unfeeling robots detonate when exposed to the power of love, but... look, does that whole hot springs thing REALLY have enough destructive power to punch out all of the Koumas' blood? [Kohran]  Welp, it's Maria-han in nothin' but a towel, ain't it? [Ogami]  Yeah...? [Kohran] An' she's blushin' like mad, right? [Ogami] I guess, but- [Kohran]  An' y'all don't even HAVE to know her personally t' figure out that something's really, disturbingly wrong if Maria's doin' both at once, right? [Ogami] Wait, are you saying that our super special awesome final combination attack makes the Kouma so paranoid that they die from it? [Kohran]  Look, it's either that or they're turned on so hard that they're nosebleedin', but that jes' opens up a whole other line of questionin' that Ah'd rather not hafta get into. [Ogami] Okay, fair enough, I guess. I already have MORE than enough frightening lines of questioning to deal with during every waking moment. ----  ---- [Ogami] ... for instance, explosion punches. ----  And on Sakura's turn?  [Sakura] Lord Ondore~!  [Maria] Clementine~! ... they feel the inexplicable need to reprise their old musical roles during a battle for life and death and/or the fate of Japan.  [Kohran] Y'all drat well better--  [Sakura] Get a grip.  All told, that barrage of mismatched quotes is just about enough to chock him down a third of his health.  ... and on her own? [Inoshishi] W-Well, yeah, but- [Kanna] And none of them tried to talk you out of it or anything, probably 'cause you're nothing more than the usual disposable cannon fodder we've been fighting up until now? If they'd been using their original Koubu, they'd be dead in the water.  Inoshishi's NORMAL attack spread isn't that much better.   ... though all it does is fire explosions at people.  [Tsubaki]  And it doesn't look like your mobility will return if you don't use "heal." [Kasumi] You won't be able to move very much at all if you don't hurry up and heal each other. Please exercise caution!! [Ogami] Right, I got it. We'll be careful from here on out!!  ---- [Ogami] And by "be careful," I mean "make judicious use of inexplicable world-ruining power." ----  Crisis averted by a bear with an MD. Naturally, weirder things have happened, so it didn't take the Imperial Assault Force TOO too long to get used to the whole setup.  And now that SUMIRE can finally go, well.  ----  BAM, poison. ---- [Inoshishi] W-W-W-What!? That's c-c-cheating, you s-s-sons of bitches!! [Ogami] I- what the hell? [Kanna] What's wrong, Piglet? So I was catching up on this thread, and I didn't realize until the end of this update that it was posted a few hours ago. And I'm like This thread is still going And may I just say what a freaking excellent thread this has been, Spirit Armor. I've been reading the whole thing in small sessions, but I've just now caught up. It's been a pleasure, and it's reminded me to support the hell of ST5's US release.
