I don't know if it's just me, or if it's just the latest version, but apparently even if you're in a quick-edit window, hitting quote causes the quick window to submit (eventually, if you do submit and don't just cancel out) the resulting post as a reply instead of an edit.

Mozilla sucks at vetting add-ons (like a month backlog and if you update the version you submitted to Mozilla before it's vetted it gets sent to the back of the line) and if you're using too stable a version of Firefox you get to wait for addons.mozilla.org instead of using a direct update (or you have to install the update manually).
