Yep, it has to do with the new OP detection. Go into your Forums Control Panel and enable highlighting. It should then go away. I'll fix it permanently tonight.

I believe that by default, Firefox only checks once a week for updates.
It's already enabled. The OP highlighting works fine, but users that are highlighted because they are special but don't have an actual note stored, show up with null.

Changelog
Added Go To First Unread Post link to navigator
Some clean up of unused code and files

Bug Fixes
Don't color threads should work again
When unreading a thread, it should uncolor properly
Keyboard navigation of the SA menu works again
Ignored threads shouldn't expire from the DB
With this update SALR uncolors everything I've read but not bookmarked, ie:

It started when I unchecked disable all gradients and then disabled it again because it screwed up the same way. Gradients turned off, but the highlighting is still busted.

No errors. It works ok if I uncheck "Don't perform color highlighting on thread lists" but then I lose the multicolored bookmark coloring from the forums. The script seems to be stripping whatever coloring is on un-bookmarked threads. They'll show their coloring until it runs and then it'll be gone. Also I've confirmed that it happened before I was messed around with any settings, I just updated my laptop and it was started happening immediately after the upgrade.

I know it's a beta, but are you guys looking into Firefox 3 compatibility at all? SALR is pretty broken in 3b1. The menu doesn't pull anything, most of the options do nothing at all, and it's just generally broken. FF3 is so nice on OS X compared to 2, especially in Leopard, which I just got yesterday, and I really don't want to use 2. So, anything? :shobon:

EDIT: Oh yeah, no error messages come up even if I uncheck the suppress error messages option.

RedKazan posted:

The reason nothing works in the 3 beta is that it isn't even trying. One of the first things the script does is run a "load" event listener on the window; in Firefox 2 this is fine, the event propagates all the way down to all the tabs and everything is groovy, but in Firefox 3 the event only fires for the window itself loading, not any of that window's children (tabs). Without waiting for the tabs to load, it can't check if you're actually at SA or not, and if it fails that check, it stops trying to do anything else.
Ah I understand. So how hard is that to fix? Major rewrite territory? Quick and easy? Somewhere in between? Basically how much of a bounty should I be thinking about putting on this? ;)

It's actually been like this for a while, so I know it's nothing recent.
What version of Firefox? What version of SALR? 2.0.0.13 is the latest release of Firefox. The most current version of SALR is 1.99.080122. OP highlighting and username highlighting are both still working for me, so is quick reply/quote/edit/post. SALR tracks which threads you've posted in and the forums track which threads you've read. There's nothing on forumdisplay.php to indicate whether or not you've posted in a thread, so it can't be carried over between computers.

Assuming you're on Windows, open up the run prompt, and type %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles in and hit enter. It'll open up a folder and there should another folder that looks like [random numbers/letters].default. The salastread.sqlite is in there.

To access currentVersion and lastRunVersion, type about:config into your address bar and filter for them.

This is not possible for SALR to do. The forums cancer thing entirely replaces the poster's title/avatar. It's not present in the HTML served up by the forums, so there's nothing SALR could do to restore it short of saving every single user's avatar and title locally, making sure they didn't have cancer and then if they did replacing it with their regular combo.
