Don't get me wrong - as a protocol for retrieving documents, and nothing else, it's ok, I guess. As a general-purpose protocol which acts as the foundation for all our future application development? Oh. My. God. After all the crap that was added to correct some of its deficiencies in this regard, all we have is a whole bunch of ill-defined standards, and programmers having to code around the various bugs in IE's implementation of them. Sometimes I wish we could just take a step back, and come up with something better. Fat chance.
