Aw, I liked The Wilderness. Maybe not as much as their previous albums, but it was definitely cool seeing songs like Disintegration Anxiety performed live. That tour they did with the light show was pretty rad.

Don't know if Stars of the Lid even remotely qualify as post-rock, but I wanted people to know that they slyly announced on Facebook today that they are working on new music. A little flicker of light in THESE DARK TIMES.

New Mono album is out today. What can I say? It's more Mono and I dig it. I'm glad they're still doing their thing.

I'd also like to reiterate that I'd REALLY LIKE TO SEE THEM LIVE AGAIN :smith:

I have only seen them once, in the mid 2000s supported by jesu in a tiny underground club in Glasgow, Scotland, and I went deaf through my earplugs. Absolutely one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to.

Saw Pelican there twice too. Good wee venue.

similar sound (instrument wise, not song structure and poo poo) to radiohead but its still unique where it doesn't feel like a rip-off

was really hungering for more post-rock, so MONO’s timing couldn’t be better

are there anyone else releasing albums or who has just released, that aren’t soundtracks?

Neato. I've never heard of this band before.....but I like what I hear. Bought three tickets for their opening stop on April 1st at the Turf Club. It's technically in St. Paul. Not Minneapolis.

Speaking of that era... I recently got around to buying the Special Moves live album and the performances are all amazing, but several from Hawk is Howling really stand out. Best version of I Love You, I'm Going to Blow Up Your School I've heard. The bonus tracks finish with Thank You Space Expert into The Precipice, just like the album, and they're amazing recordings. Wish I'd gotten to hear that material live when they were touring that album.
