Well, that was fun, but I do think I've finally hit "too curmudgeonly to go to ska shows anymore."
.
e: I guess maybe it's just ska shows held on literally a high school campus so no booze and no smoking.

SKA SUCKS

Saw Mad Caddies in DC last night, they were awesome. Not sure why they moved it from the main stage to the smaller side stage, but it was a good time. Great mix of old stuff and new stuff. I'll have to make sure to see them again when they come back to the East coast, which at this rate will be in 15 years.

I'm in grad school next to Gramercy where they played and really wanted to stop by after class.

New Bosstones on June 15th, you can check out a single here: https://riotfest.org/2018/05/bossto...album-song-era/

They always sound tight, but boy do I miss that growl.

If we only get one new ska record this year, at least it's a Bosstones record. And it does, indeed, loving rip.

sting like a byob

I learned this from the Bosstones twitter feed, but their album is not the only new ska album of the year or even this month. Mad Caddies have a new album that came out the same day, Punk Rocksteady, and there's an album from the Interrupters, Fight the Good Fight, due out the 29th.

Mad Caddies is a covers album though. It is indeed awesome, but don't be expecting new original songs

Fancy.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Andy "Keys" Clark? I recently heard this single he did from a few years ago called "When Dexys Ruled the World" and I liked it well enough.
