On another note, anybody know anything about Regatta 69? They have a song "Someone to Cling To" on that Ska: The Third Wave compilation but they pretty much don't exist according to the internet. I'm sure they're just boring third-wave ska but the song I mentioned is really good and I'm wondering if anybody else likes their stuff.

I do. Once in... er... was it 1996? I was the first... um... only person greeting them the second they got off their tour bus in my town. It was the second time I'd seen them live. They asked me where was the nearest place to eat, so I escorted them to a Subway on the other side of the block we were on and talked to them while they ate... then followed them back to the venue for soundcheck and the show. I did buy a copy of their CD "Fat Free," and took some bad pictures of them, but bog knows where those pictures could be now.

For the record, they only shine live. I thought the studio version of their music versus their live music was like... comparing a cardboard cut-out to a human being. What did happen to those guys? They were fun.

I say this in every ska thread, but Mephiskapheles's God Bless Satan is without a doubt in my mind the greatest third-wave ska album ever conceived.

Amen. Have you ever seen them live? They are the most throw-down, Let's gently caress poo poo Up and Skank a Hole In the Ground ska band I've ever seen live. When I saw them live, even metalheads came to join the moshskanking afoot.

That and, I had to smirk when they set up their drum kit and they had a very badly spray-painted inverted pentacle and "666" on it...

I'm might be the biggest LTJ fan on these boards (maybe -- I've seen them 16 times in the past 7 years)

Hope you won't mind me linking you to this, then, as I feel you'd appreciate it. It's my only LTJ story:

You're from Gainesville? Represent, man. (I'm not, but I know far more about the place than most people that aren't from there tend to.)
