Capín Jazz is one of the all time greats. I know that lots and lots of bands follow in their footsteps and go for that manic fancy energy but to my ears no one ever hits the same as the Capín.

They also have, conveniently, a greatest hits record that IIRC is just their entire didcorgraphy of 1:50 and 2:14 minute long songs, itís like oh never mind here u go

The former is what I was aiming for but I don't know how to bring it up. I thought it would be a simple/amusing/interesting discussion for the punk rock thread because when I opened the app at the time of that post they were all clearly listed in order. Now when I open it there is just a list of general top songs I have listened to followed by a list of podcasts they think I should listen to. Lol corporations.

Last 4 weeks top artists for me have been:

1. The Bombpops
2. War on Women
3. Behemoth
4. Outbreak
5. Unleash the Archers
6. Torso
7. Oresund Space Collective
8. Mastodon
9. Internal Affairs
10. NOFX

I wonder how "Top artist" is calculated, number of streams vs time probably. don't know. I binged a few of those bands the past couple weeks, wouldnt really consider all of those my "top 10:

My all time Spotify Top 10 is:

HEALTH
Touche Amore
Matthew Good
PUP
Carly Rae Jepsen
Norma Jean
The Wonder Years
Spanish Love Songs
Hellions
NIN

ETID is #11 and I'm pretty surprised Hellions beat them.

Really? Maybe I need to listen again. I only listened to a few songs, but my recollection is all the texture, rhythm, and atmosphere were gone and replaced with some attempt at dancey/housey electro stuff. What was the song with the music video with a bunch of people projectile vomiting?

There's a lot of recency-bias in my Spotify stats, since I've mostly used it for new bands and have only been using the app seriously since like 2018

Top 10 all time
1. The Accidentals
2. The World Is A Beautiful Place...etc
3. Alkaline Trio
4. Rare Candy
5. La Dispute
6. Coheed And Cambria
7. Bright Eyes
8. The Color And Sound
9. Felix Hagan & The Family
10. Good Kid

Seriously, only Co&Ca and Bright Eyes are bands I've been listening to longer than 3 years. And 6 of those 10 are in my 4 Weeks list too lol

I'm definitely more into the poppier side of Punk, but I like this thread and because of it I discovered PUP, so that's cool
