Things have been pretty bleh since COVID. But I know they’ve been writing and practicing in the last year. Did a show or two this summer though!

Ironically the best thing about it.

And yeah there's been a wind advisory in place for over 24 hours so the only thing they did wrong was delay it. Another Indiana State Fair incident would be bad.

I live in New Orleans. I've been outside during hurricanes before. Miss me with that bullshit. Though I guess they did what they had to.

Yeah fuckin around in the wind with any kind of mobile staging and anything flown is a terrible idea. My friend was working front of house for Sugarland when that stage collapse happened. hosed him up pretty bad. Being overly cautious is fine by me

Chasing the dream.
The first show I ever went to was the pop disaster tour in 2001 with Green Day and Blink 182 coheadlining. I went with a bunch of blink fans and the drive home was incredibly quiet as we all agreed that Blink 182 was absolute dogshit live and couldn't play their own instruments (minus drums.)

Remember: no matter where you go, there you are.
It worked out better in the end - the wind was stupid bad and the dust storm that blew through was gnarly - so lots of bands found super small venues and bars to play shows at. the city was flooded with emo kids lined up at every random bar I’ve ever known. Senses Fail at the Sand Dollar downtown which is like a 200 person size venue, poo poo like that. Instead of some massive festival setup, fans could see bands in intimate venues.
It was like a hosed up mini Fest, but I had friends see some cool rear end shows last night.
And yeah you don’t want people near a 100 foot tall stage full of rigging and lights in 60mph gusts. Someone dying ain’t worth pushing through a windstorm for “the music.”

Ask me about making games instead of gains.
Just found out envy is playing in Copenhagen tomorrow and I’m getting on vacation and won’t be in the city. RIP me. One of the few bands I really want to see live ;(

I think it'll need to grow on me a bit. The songs we heard prior to it coming out were fantastic, but I didn't really get those vibes on a passive listen while I was driving on the rest of the album.

Still great.
