Only time I got to see Circa Survive, Anthony was super low energy and his voice was really weak. Merch lady said he was sick. Still tried to put on a show but I would have been fine with him taking the night off. Now, Now and Minus The Bear were great so it was still a good show.

Just threw down   for the new Their/They're/There vinyl. Considering 1. I never thought the full length was ever going to happen 2. Bummed Kinsella is not part of it 3. Everyone I've played it for it makes some variation of a "Why does this remind me of Relayer-era Yes?" comment It's still my album of the year. I can't wait to hear it after hearing how loud the mix is on the digital release.

That new Sound of Animals Fighting EP is out now. Cave World by Viagra Boys is my #1 album 2022 Runner up is Malign Hex by Meat Wave I was a little let down by Get hosed by The Chats. It's good enough, just sort of doesn't stand out.

Went to the Full Collapse X Domestica show last night and it was an absolute blast. I've been listening to those albums for twenty years and Full Collapse is what got me into emo so it was basically a dream show. Geoff's voice hasn't really held up as well as Kasher's, but the energy made up for it. Cursive was impressive, after Domestica they played Dorothy at Forty, The Recluse, and The Great Decay and those last two are all timers in my book so I couldn't be happier.

So, I live in a backwater town and don’t get to see many bands live, but A Wilhelmina Scream is playing here next year. I’ve heard of them and maybe heard a few tracks but never delved deeper. Is it worth springing a few bucks on a punk show for band I do t really care about? Are they particularly good live?

I like A Wilhelm Scream a decent amount but rarely listen to them (I'm not a huge fan of their singer) but when I saw them live last year they totally ripped.

I've known those dudes since before they changed their name from Smackin Isaiah. I've done FOH for them 3 or 4 times, and I've seen em play another half dozen times or so. Best dudes on the planet, and they absolutely tear the roof off of the place every loving time they play and have for the last 20 years. Go to that show and have a blast. Do not however play pinball with Nuno for money- he will fleece you.

re: 2022 albums: i did not listen to much punk/emo that came out this year -- somehow i'm always at least a year or two behind if not longer (still listening to mobo here). but i did see remo drive back in may and one of the openers, heart to gold, really impressed me, they released their first real album this year which i liked a lot (here is a choice pick from it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPLDiKpuEhI
