Over Christmas I relaunched my YouTube channel where I upload all the sets I filmed in the 2000s. This week I've been uploading 5 choice sets from an alldayer that my friend who ran Newest Industry Records in the UK put on, which means some of these bands for the first time have good quality recordings of themselves live (and in some cases I believe recordings of songs that never were released). The biggest name is Black Cougar Shock Unit, but Former Cell Mates are ex-Leatherface, Sedaced is former Hard Skin/Broccoli/etc, Annalise were a fantastic band that only rarely played live, and No Choice were a Welsh band that formed in 1981 but it wasn't until the 2000s they put down proper releases, including one on No Idea. So there's definitely some history here rather than just a few local bands nobody knew! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seavHie0H9A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BbuE0a3zKY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-TC22-vmnc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ7cGB0sDBA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gppHp-mQzNs Hopefully something for someone!

I’ll have to check out the newest one, and then undoubtedly Zombie Crew is gonna be stuck in my head all day.

New L.S. Dunes album is out today. I think I prefer their last album, though it's been a minute since I listened to their last album.

Discovered that Love Lost but Not Forgotten is from nearby St. Charles (I'm in St. Louis) and laughed upon reading this on the Wikipedia page for St. Charles. I'm picturing Footloose with stage dives.

Have listened to dozens (possibly hundreds) of new-to-me metal/hardcore releases in the past couple weeks in a frenzy and that might be the single best one so far

Really can't get over how incredible Industry by Honeywell is. I would maybe put it in my top ten hardcore albums ever if I were being aggressive; can't imagine it outside the top thirty, though. Somehow both invents and nearly perfects screamo at its purest. It's like if Touche Amore traveled back in time to beat everybody to the punch. Found the one real piece of writing that seemingly exists about the band, an excellent interview conducted by Joshua Minsoo Kim. https://toneglow.substack.com/p/tone-glow-150-honeywell
