Thanks to whoever posted about the new Coheed and Cambria album

I hadn’t listened to them since whatever album came out when I was in high school 20 years ago.

This one whips rear end. Gonna have to take a deep dive into their other stuff

It's pretty great - it's held onto my attention more than any of their albums since the two aftermans
just like the new dream theater somehow held onto my attention for the first time in 15 years

Truly a masterpiece. The orchestra performance at red rocks is a favourite of mine. Randomly comes up on my youtube all the time and I watch it all the way through every time.

Saw the Refused/Quicksand show last night, they absolutely killed it, go if you can.

Also as a bonus, the singer and guitarist from Snapcase came up and played Caboose with Refused, that ruled and could only happen in Buffalo sorry everyone else.

I heard GEL broke up because their guitarist was an abusive rear end in a top hat. Were they really popular? They played at a bigger venue here and I was kinda surprised tbh. I’m not a big fan of their vocalist.

This is really lovely news, I'll miss their output too. Hope they go on to bigger and better.

My city's punk/hardcore scene fell apart at the end of the 00's after a long decline and extraordinary division with the sXe metalcore scene, not unusual for smaller cities at that time tbh. Chat Pile/Gouge Away had a tentative date on their tour schedule that didn't solidify here, but Refused in a couple weeks makes up for it. I haven't been super positive on any of their output since they reformed but even imagining Refused actually playing in my podunk red state is wild, and I have a ton of admiration for Dennis & David. Honestly, I'm equally stoked to see Quicksand, even if I only want to hear their B-sides. Propagandhi hasn't played here since 1999 and that isn't going to change, I'm planning to drive out to Portland at the end of June to catch them, but all this defiant energy is coming just as I desperately need it so I'm not going to complain about my dipshit city for once. It's been a while since I've done a portland roadtrip for a show, and I've missed propagandhi at every opportunity over the years due to work/life, but since i'll probably lose my job before July and will likely be busy digging up worms to eat after then, their timing is perfect for once :haw:

I really hope, for your sake, that Dennis is able to keep his voice intact. He was already struggling a bit toward the end of the night, although that might have just been regular fatigue and not voice fatigue. Tough to say.

I don’t have any Propagandhi dates near me yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if they came to Buffalo on their next big tour. They always play Southern Ontario though, so my friends and I will probably follow them around like we did in 2022.

The band Niis (pronounced like nice) released their first full-length album today, called “Niis World.” They were supposed to tour with BR last Fall but that got canceled, however they’re about to headline a cross-country tour which is cool. I saw them at Punk Rock Bowling last year and they kicked rear end. The singer said the first punk album she heard was Penis Envy by crass, she even has a crass tattoo on her thigh. This is the music video they released for this album, kind of an odd choice because the rest of the album goes way harder than this, but it gives you an idea of their grunge-punk sound:

Check out their EP “Must be…” (like “must be nice”) and the album. I just listened to it, it’s really good. Also their bassist is really hotgood.

It’s really great. Also, I laughed when I read the liner notes and in the section where it listed the band members it said something like, “Steve Ignorant does not appear on this album.”

If you're gonna have roads, you're gonna have roadkill.
I just got back from a trip to Japan and happened to be in Tokyo when Gel was playing. Part way through their set the vocalist made a comment like "This is our last show... eveerrr." I wasn't sure if it was a joke or not until I saw the Instagram post the next day.

I had also seen elsewhere that the reason the breakup was so abrupt was that said shithead guitarist basically owned all the rights to the bands material and was preparing to take them to court?

Anyway, if you're ever in Japan I'd recommend trying to take in a show at Earthdom. It's a pretty wicked venue.
