i can't believe this black metal band is inspired by a probably mostly made up ideology about human sacrifice and antihumanism. why is my luck so bad?

The modifier 'recent' is stretching my knowledge too thin but I got two recommendations nonetheless.

Firstly we have Bekhira which put out an album in '05. Song titles are in English though, so it might not have that je ne sais quoi you want.

Secondly, Belenos has a bunch of albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXXO1COq-I0

False, Falls of Rauros, and Yellow Eyes all have albums coming out this year at the end of June/beginning of July. No songs out yet as far as I can tell, but that's a pretty solid trio.

the bekhira album is ok but the real gem is the 1996 demo i think. it's hard to beat songs like this for that style https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSNvkGLqPkc
another band affiliated with the concilium scene that was very good was chemin de haine. unfortunately they never put out a full length but all their material kills https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOM2CC6nu9o

Crowley is a huge influence huge warts and all for me but yeah. They’ll melt down in a second. They also love their completely bizarre revisionist stuff about him based on literally nothing and I saw someone on tumblr claiming he was a strong homophobe like bruh Crowley was sucking and loving so many dicks come onnnnn. Fascism is incompatible with most of what he put into his work but of course those types will find what they want in anything. There seems to be a group that decided that Thelema = the fashiest bits of the Church of Satan and I don’t even understand how these people function :psyduck:

There’s a dude around here who I thought I really liked. Runs an old book store with a massive collection of old rare occult work. Tons of art too. Genuinely tons of stuff you can’t find anywhere. Unfortunately dude seems to only have connections to fascists. Yay! :suicide:

no, but i've read some of their stuff out of curiosity and i haven't really seen crowley referencing much. there's obviously an influence but it's hard to find an occult movement that wasn't influenced by him to some degree.

that stuff is mostly overstated pop culture factoids imo even though himmler and a few other high ranking nazis did have a genuine interest in occult and esoteric topics.

it's a bit bizarre at first but fascism can show up anywhere if the right economic conditions are present, and they sure were after 1989. and of course there were ukrainian fascists collaborating with the nazis during ww2, and they're being hailed as heroes by the current ukrainian government and by most of their black metal scene.

I think that this is uncomfortably close to the right wing take on the topic, and that the answer has more to do with the destruction of institutions like the welfare and education systems built under socialism by western backed austerity and shock therapy.
