 Can anyone recommend bands with a similar sound to Wodensthrone or Altar of Plagues? Just checking out other bands in the subgenre or plugging them into a last.fm channel hasn't been turning up much.

Also check out Ash Borer, Weakling, Skagos, Fauna, Fell Voices (maybe), Deafheaven (gasp!), Gottesmorder, Alda, Lake of Blood, Panopticon, Fen, or Heretoir. I'm less familiar with bands similar to Wodensthrone. Maybe Drudkh?

If that list is a bit overwhelming (although it's by no means comprehensive), I'd say start with Ash Borer. They're probably my favorite in the subgenre.

Hey, super late but thanks a lot for these recommendations guys, I've been enjoying a bunch of them. Especially Ash Borer, love the insane vocals.
