Thanks for the recommendations. I am enjoying Darkthrone, Dissection, Master's Hammer, Toxic Holocaust, and Destroyer 666.

If you like Toxic Holocaust, I recommend his various side projects as well. Especially the Yellowgoat Sessions (I think it's under the name Joel Grind - Yellowgoat Sessions).
Pretty much straight up old Bathory-worship.

It's a shame Sepulchre broke up last year. I really enjoyed that release.

I totally slept on Infestus' "The Reflecting Void" release. Hits the spot perfectly. It reminds me of a mix between Shining and (old) Katatonia or Opeth, without the constant whining of the former.
Any recommendations on similar bands and albums?

Thank you all for the reccomendations!

Now I'm actually in the mood for the opposite...some slower more clean-ish depressive suicidal black metal/depressive rock. One of my favorite bands of all time is Hypothermia, so more stuff like that...some other examples would be Lifelover, Psychonaut IV, certain of the more mellow Shining songs, etc.

Missed your earlier post, but have you checked out Infestus?

The Reflecting Void and Ex||st have been on constant rotation for me for the last 4 months.

Anybody listen to the new Brashasketh release?
