heyleroy posted:I recommend Celestia - Apparitia - Sumptuous Spectre. It's one of my favorites of the year, for sure. If you like this you should like Mortifera - Vastiia Tenebrd Mortifera. The main song writer for Mortifera is in Celestia, and they even cover a Celestia song. edit: Krohm - The Haunting Presence is worth checking out if you're a fan of doomy, suicidal BM. private message fucked around with this message at 21:49 on Nov 18, 2007 |

I just saw that Lutomysl's new album "De Profundis" is coming out soon! I'm pretty excited as Catharsis is a great black metal album.

ultraviolence123 posted:Agreed. But only the original No Colours Records edition, as the Nuclear Blast reissue has tons of horrible edits that kill the mood of the album. I remember buying the original version when it was released and being absolutely blown away by what I was hearing. One of the most depressed black metal recordings ever released. Do you know if this is the case for Darkthrone's albums as well? A bunch of them were re-mastered and I haven't heard the originals. Is there a big difference?

Any thoughts on the new Nokturnal Mortum? I'm not sure how I feel about the clean vocals in one song, but after 2 listens the album seems really good. And they finally have a drummer that doesn't sound exactly like a drum machine.

Hinsidig's new album Bak og Forbi... is some really good atmospheric black metal. It sounds sort of like a mix of Ulver and Nyktalgia. The guitar leads and the drums are especially good. Highly recommended!

I apologize if this has been posted before, but there's a 3 part documentary about bedroom black metal bands and it centers around the guys from Xasthur, Striborg and Leviathan. I didn't expect Malefic to look the way he does, with his shaved head and flat brimmed hat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQl6PzXU4cQ private message fucked around with this message at 06:08 on Nov 4, 2012 |

Trist (Germany) - Hin-fort is a pretty great ambient / black metal album similar in style to Darkspace but with didgeridoo-like vocals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtUXjyRJJQQ
