http://desmoines.craigslist.org/car/753457187.html Usually a salvage title on a car means severe damage. Well, this is kinda funny in its own way but turns into a serious question. This car is like gas prices, it goes down... Click here for the full 717x538 image. Now it goes up.... Click here for the full 717x538 image. Now here is the serious question. What really makes the fox body Mustangs worth so much? This is almost a 20 year old car that still commands a pretty hefty price. You can run out and buy a car that is half the age, less miles, and probably less beaten up. I Looked up the price of this car on NADA, with just standard options, automatic, and 100,000 miles, and with high retail being 4825 and clean retail being 4100 dollars. Many fox bodies in my area are always trying to be sold at a sky high price. Any reasons or explanation? Edit: My area is defined as Des Moines, IA. Well, if your confused as to how your car works, its best not to own a car. Also this car must be Muslim, because it works in ALLA, the country. (please don't flame me muslim goons). http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/2463782557.html On the other hand, it really is a nice 7 series, I always lust of owning one of these.

E38's are sans iDrive. They are actually quite simplistic in terms of use, my E39 is basically a E38 minus a few things. 2002 7XX is when the iDrive first appeared.

The 6's back in the day were quite the fuel efficient. My father had a F-150 with a 300 strait 6 and routinely pulled 17 highway. Though it was rather a scary feeling trying to get on the interstate, but managed every time.

He said that there are fiddly bits that seem to croak, but quite a bit of the cars parts are related to the E34. The engine has been rock solid and the transmission has been trouble free. I asked him if he would buy another, and he said in a split second. If you have your own tools and are willing to work around that sweet sweet v12, do it. YMMV.

I have already started looking for another motor to see if I can find one cheap. I think if I can get him down to 750 and a decent motor I will take it. If not there is a couple of T-Bird super coupes and a SHO for sale cheap nearby that are in much better shape.

When I used to volunteer we had an old old GMC truck (I am guessing from the 60's) that has the big V6 engine in it. It was JUST replaced with a new truck. I think it had a whopping 40,000 miles on it. That truck was a workhorse though, but at a fire if it ran for extended times we had to leave the hood open, even in the dead of winter. I know the radiator was big, but who knows how much crap was built up on the inside.

It has the fan that was bolted directly to the pulley that drove the water pump? v v I saw the truck up at a tiny little rural fire department the other day though. It was renamed and every thing, new unit number. They must have waxed it or did something because it looked really good. Kinda neat to see those old trucks still serving and being looked after.

Motronic posted:Huh? I'm talking about the engine cooling fan. I've never seen a truck that didn't have a pump somewhere in the middle, driven either off of an auxiliary PTO (for smaller field truck you you can drive and pump) or the interference type PTO (dive wheels disconnected when the PTO is engaged). Yep, the engine cooling fan was directly connected.... the pump was driven completely differently. Where there would normally be a fan clutch, none existed... just direct drive. I wish I had a picture... If I ever get to see daylight (working nights), I can run out there and snap a few photos, I know the chief.

The Gen 1 3.5 isn't terrible. Not great either. The Gen 2 is a way better engine, more power and it seems like the power is better delivered. The transmission backing them isn't that terrible either, just really sensitive to the fluid.

http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/2896781089.html If this wagon is in as good of shape as they claim, that really isn't that bad of a deal. I really do like the flat black finish.
