Yikes, 5K seems insane for an AW11 with over 100K. Unless its 100% rust free and museum quality, don't pay 5K for a non turbo. $3k TOPS.

Me and my friend bought a '78 auto 733i for $500 when we were 17. Found it on some weird want ad website and it was some old dude selling it in the middle of no where. We showed up and he expected us to tow it since he said it hadn't been started in two full years (none of this was in the ad or said over the phone). Well it started right up, no problems at all. We bought it on the spot and drove it away, threw some new gas in it, and hit 140MPH on the way back, smooth as butter. It was a complete train wreck electrically however, and the windshield was cracked. It was a grey market euro model with glass lights, the brightest high beams I have ever seen on a car in my life, and everything including all the gauges we in german. When you turned the windshield wipers on, the doors unlocked, when you moved the power seats, the sunroof opened, when you turned the lights on the windshield washer sprayed and so on. It was a mess, and we found out a new windshield was over $1,000, and we just couldn't pool the money together to fix and insure it so we sold it for scrap  . drat that thing was fast for such an old car, and fuel injected.A clean 5 speed would be extremely fun.

That BMW had some fuckin balls for what it was - 194HP according to the internet - which is more than enough to hit 130-140ish. Ah to be young and stupid again…

Dash was in MPH, but everything else was german and it definitely had the euro lights and Bosch injection. Maybe the dash was swapped out at some point? Listen, this was 10 years ago so we could have been doing ~120, but I remember pinning the speedo past 130. I'm sure with how hosed the electrical systems were, and a possible swapped dash we could have been going slower. Pretty funny since my '99 corolla at the time was also a 3 speed auto.

My mom had one of these when I was a kid, was pretty drat awesome in the snow but I recall it being a bit of a slow shitbox. No way she paid even close to $7,000 when she had it in the mid 90's. Got t-boned real bad by a big rear end van, car was completely destroyed beyond recognition, but we both survived with minor injuries. The best part of the ad is that he wants MORE money for the spare engine. Complete insanity.

I remember my mom test driving the 4wd stick Colt wagon when I was little, on the same day we also checked out a brown 4 speed Volvo 240 wagon with a little OD button on the stick, which I thought was the coolest car ever. Man I really haven't changed at all since I was 10 I guess!

I still can't believe back in '07 I was torn between an early nsx for 20k, an impact 911 for 10-15k, an e30 m3 for 10k, and an e46 330ci for 14k. .... I chose the 330ci and sold it 4 years later for 6 grand.
