I picked up the "best selling" calipers on Amazon. They seem to have a good rating, are cheap, and work good enough for my occasional (and low tolerance) needs. Come with an extra battery, too!

Those are pretty drat good calipers. My dads QA shop pays to have them re-certified and tagged every year.

Heheh, there's not much out there aside from an Automotive scope ($$$), or Fluke Scopemeter ($$$$). The USB scopes with no screen are even worse, because you've got to lug around a laptop. There are some for Android, but they suck rear end too. There isn't much of a middle ground.

Rigol DS1054Z is my default recommendation. $400, 4 channels, 100MHz with upgrade, 1GS/sec, tons of memory.

Thanks a ton. I'm about to embark on my project 1300cc Vmax and was looking to build some digital controls to replace the older logic... this will be wonderful

The LED 4' shop lights at my local Costco dropped from $29.99 to $24.97. The thing about prices there that end in 7 is that they're about to be gone for a while. I got two fixtures.

I have 8 in my garage. Best drat thing ever. One minor inconvenience: Feit won't warranty the unit if you cut the cord or wire it in direct. I put in some ceiling outlets and plugged 'em in, rock on.
