Blue. Red: There's going to be a lot of security around our foes in their panic room. We're not ready for that. Yellow: Assuming there aren't guards around our boy, he was hurt badly enough that the only option was to leave him to the doctors in this place. That means he's probably undergoing/just underwent some surgery and won't be able to do much. It may make him feel better if we go give him a card and some balloons, but it's not going to help our cause for the time being. Blue: She's going back to work, but she has information we need, which is currently anything. And if following her is going to put either/both of them in danger, she can tell us to politely gently caress off. Pigtail should take a closer look at that picture on the wall before leaving, whatever else she does.

I'm glad Blue won. Adam gave us another chance at this, and it'd be foolish to go off and take a big risk wandering around trying to find him right away before we have a better grasp at what's going on.

gently caress we are so screwed now. Pretty soon you'll all be wishing we still had Adam by our side when something terrible happens to Pigtails while she's shooting the poo poo with Nice Lady, and then she'll be stuck again with no friends. And nobody to take a knife-leg for her.

I am I first noticed this thread recently. Really good story, and great art and imagination behind it, too. While I cannot vote this time around, I feel confident that the narrow blue win is to the protagonist's advantage. As was cogently noted by a goon I can't be bothered to check who was, there is a huge-rear end war going on out there, and we need to know what it's about - it's safe to say the bionic augmentations on the kids are part of an effort to affect the balance of the conflict. Perhaps the uprising is about robots rebelling against humanity? In that case, having cyborg uber-kids with motherfucking gunblades out the wazoo could be a good way to gain power in this world. So yeah, my rant was really that blue is probably a good choice, because then Nicy Lady(tm) can tell us what the conflict is about, and what her theory on Creepy and Son's plans for this facility is about. Also, while I'm all about saving Adam, we can still do that after having this chat. He is probably still in critical condition at this point, so he might as well stay with the doc till he is stable enough to flee. FAKE EDIT: Nice Lady is a robotics engineer, right? Perhaps she knows more about how the arm and socket interferes with our skills and system, particularly regarding our tendency to flip out and glow blue when we're stressed.

I think the photo, if it is one of the children, look like it would be a younger pigtails before they got long. Mostly because she's wearing a red tank top, and I feel like if it were Adam he'd be in a tee shirt or something. In an case, here's hopin' he's not all robo-insane if we see him again.

We're gonna find out what's going on with the outside world one way or the other. Adam might have a robot-controlled, evil brain by the time we get to him because people basically wanted to sit around and watch the news. Time is of the essence when your friend is in the grasp of a mad scientist.

I'm still banking on the fact that he is very seriously injured, and if the 'rules' of this game are somewhat realistic (which, admittedly, they might not be in the future) the Doctor will need to spend quite a while just saving Adam's life and stabilizing his condition before he can get on with the evil brain surgery. In case he is in real danger of robofication, I recommend that we get the most crucial information quick and move on.

To answer a question that's come up a few times - you still have all the inventory items you've collected so far (syringe, gun, map, remote control, Dr. Stratford's swipecard). Now closing the thread pending next update.

You notice a photo on the wall next to the lady's bed, and given who's in it, you can't help but ask about it. She admits that yes, that is Adam - her younger brother - in the photo. It seems that his presence as a patient and her presence as an employee are related, but talking about it makes her sad and you don't want to push the issue. To distract her, you ask about the remote control you swiped earlier. It seems this is something she can help you with. Although the remote itself is useless without Dr. Stratford's voice to activate it, she can rig its signal transmitter to your robo-arm. Congratulations: an upgrade! You can now have robots as well as humans do your bidding, at least for the time being. Your lady friend isn't sure how well it will hold up. That done, you have another pressing question - about the 'attacks' that have left so many children orphaned. While the lady is willing to tell you about it, she says that it'll take a while and you need to move on out. She has a few things to do, so she says you can choose where to go. Your options: Stuff: Short update, I know - I've not been feeling it today. Also, please give your votes as one, two or three. Thank you!

One Not sure I completely understand the options, but I think pigtails (us) wants to go find out who else is stuck in this creepy place. Also, blend in with crowd until nice lady is done with stuff. Edit: also hopefully Adam is there? Edit 2: once this thread is done, someone needs to compile it in comic format with with all the panels and captions, plus commentary from us! then post it somewhere on the interwebs. inkwell fucked around with this message at 22:46 on Jun 3, 2008 |

I'm going to say 2, because seeing how the parts are made will let us know if these people are inherently evil. If every third part is a gun arm or bladed leg rig, then we know something's afoot. If that isn't the case, then we learn something else.
