It's barrel distortion (lol photography pun).

Is a 40x scope on an AR tactical enough?

How about a dot sight on a muzzleloader?

How about a light and a standoff device on a pistol?

How about a counter-sniper AR pistol with a tactical light?

How about whatever the hell this thing is?

And thanks, now I want a Garand with a Sage stock.

Exactly. The Vertec slide is the same length as a regular 92/96 series; the barrel is just flush with the front of the frame. My picture is of a Centurion slide and barrel attached to the Vertec frame, which does make it shorter and thus the guide rod sticks out.

It makes sense if you expect to fire more than 7 rounds, as plugging in a new mag is a lot faster than even an expert reloading a tube mag. Of course, if you need more than 7 rounds you're either in an absolutely hosed home defense scenario or you should've brought a semiauto.

That's when you hang the tube-fed shotgun by its sling and reload it one-handed while covering your target with your handgun.

Duh.

It attaches to the frame with plates under the grips, not that it would matter either way, legally.

Having optics mounted off center works fine if you only need them zeroed at one particular distance. If you shoot at anything other than the zeroed distance, you need to compensate vertically and horizontally.

Ooh! Sportsman's Guide has a pretty nice 870 setup.

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=451248

It's perfect - a 28" sporting barrel for maximum accuracy, velocity, and effective range; a vertical foregrip in the finest Command Arms tradition; and an M4 type stock with side saddle shell holders on both sides so it's uncomfortable to use no matter whether you shoot left- or right-handed. Maybe they're encouraging you to shoot from the hip?

I think it's because there are people out there who want a suppressor but A) don't want to pony up the bucks (average cost is what, $700 including the tax stamp?) or B) live in a state where suppressors are prohibited, so they have to content themselves with the mere appearance of a suppressor.
