Yeah I really liked that one. Not foreign language, but not American anyway.

In The Flesh is excellent. Very similar to (the good) Being Human show, and I think it aired around the same time.

Katla is just horrifyingly depressing.

I mostly enjoyed appreciated it. I liked the setting and premise, as bleak as it is. It reminded me a little of Northern Exposure if it were directed by Ingmar Bergman. Where it lost me is when old cop man went off the deep end and suddenly has a dungeon in his basement (that also has a window and a hammer???). From that point on things felt kind of contrived.

We finished Rake (the Australian one, on Netflix), which has become one of favorite shows. I don't know that the last season was really necessary and I don't know that the finale couldn't have been better, but yeah, 100% recommend. The main protagonist reminds me a bit of Duchovny in Californication, although I think I like Richard Roxbrough's character even more (and the show was maybe a shade less gratuitous). There were times when Rake went too over-the-line silly but somehow it still worked for us.
yeah it suffered from the trend of needing to one up the previous season and losing the subtlety that added to the show (not that its subtle very often) but it was still mostly entertaining to the end. The first couple seasons were fantastic TV.

Yup, we still enjoyed the last season a lot, it just came off as more of a sometimes clumsy political farce rather than the Cleaver Greene vortex of chaos from the earlier seasons.

It's a couple of different political allegories, none of them Trumpian. Wrong country, wrong time.

I'd say more but it's a bit of a spoiler.

So, as a child I grew up with a show called Reboot. Great little CGI cartoon with some interesting plots. I never did finish it for whatever reason back then.

I acquired it all and begun watching. Still holds up! Even the CGI visuals. After season 3 I kinda got sidetracked and its taken a while to finish season 4, the final season. Tonight, I finished it. See first line of post. I dont wanna spoil it for anyone who may be in the same boat as I was, but I'm left yearning for more and the history of the IP since the last episode has been probably a step worse than whatever the TV equivalent is of development hell.

Anyway, maybe a tad obscure to resonate with anyone else.

I'm watching Battlestar Galactica. I watched it once years ago and know nothing else about the universe. However, back then I basically skipped the Baltar/Cylon plotline. Like whenever you got a closeup of a sweaty dishevelled Baltar staring into the middle distance you knew there was going to be a 5-10 min. montage of nebulous dream visions and that just wasn't interesting to me so I skipped it.

I'm still in the early seasons but as I recall there's going to be a lot more of that going forward. Do I need to care about the Baltar/Cylon stuff? Is it worth it?

Followed closely by Starbuck, Adama, Tigh, and several others.

Does anyone like Yellowstone? I watched the laboriously long pilot episode and I think all the characters are either dull or I despise them. I can't really tell the sons apart because they all have big beards and cowboy hats. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be rooting for the guy that owns a ridiculous amount of land and is the ultimate nimby that doesn't allow cities to build any housing.

There's definitely an element of allegory there but if anything I felt like it was about Europe post-WWII. Honestly you could stretch it to match almost any time any country does something absolutely appalling and then has to live with themselves/their neighbors afterwards.

Just started season 2 of Black Summer. I don't think I've seen any other show like it. Minimal dialogue, lots of continuous action scenes, very visceral. I'm not sure if it is good or bad but I really enjoy it.

I learned to live with that after the exquisite first three seasons. I don't rewatch entire series very often -- the only two were Lost and Atlanta; the latter because it's pretty short -- but I'd seriously consider doing it for the Sopranos.

I've started watching Bordertown, which follows the life of a top cop who moves to a town close to the Russian border - set in Finland.
I thought it was quite interesting that the first case went on for like, four episodes! I'm way more used to cases in shows like this being wrapped up across 1-2 eps. Seems good so far

My partner and I have been binging this after reading the suggestions in this thread. This is the first show since The Leftovers that’s played with my emotions and made me care so much about the characters.

Currently on episode 3 or 4 in season 4 and can’t wait to see how it ends.

HACF is one of AMC's most underrated shows. A great show about computing that isn't as whacky or intense as Mr. Robot, which is great in its own way. I'm eager to see what Chris^2, the creators, come up with next.

There’s an alternate ending to HACF on Youtube that is lovely. It doesn’t change the plot, it simply replaces the track playing over the final scene with the creators’ original choice, which they couldn’t get due to costs. I won’t link it for spoilers sake, but here it is:
