Super Aggro Crag posted:Finally have been watching Oz for the first time ever. Currently on season 3 episode 4 and still loving it. Alabisi and Beecher are my two favorite characters so far. I binged the whole series when I was unemployed several years ago. You'll like it. I started watching The Good Wife on Hulu and can't stop.

Laterite posted:I too thought Fleabag was...fine. Funny, and worth watching, but not some amazing achievement. Another case where everyone other than the lead character is more interesting and empathetic. Even when you find out why Fleabag keeps running the store the way she does, it just didn't quite land for me. I found the sister's story much more compelling and Olivia Coleman knocks her role out of the park. Brett Gelman is fantastic at playing a despicable prick. Fleabag started getting weird near the end of the second season when her boyfriend or whatever started calling her for breaking the fourth wall. Either have her do it or don't.

Thwomp posted:That was the best part! It also is integral in portraying how much of a match they are for each other. The closer they get to each other, the more he notices her turning to the camera. My point is that other characters shouldn't notice or react to a character turning to the camera if that's a major storytelling device in the show. Either it means there's a camera nobody else notices or she has a sever break from reality. Either way it puts a damper on the show for me. Just my opinion.

I tried that show and couldn't get past the 3rd episode for some reason, even though I love Drew Barrymore. Now that we're caught up on our backlog of network shows, should my wife and I watch Upload or Little Fires Everywhere first? I love both Greg Daniels shows and Kerry Washington from Scandal, so please make my decision for me, internet strangers. Also, I've been on the fence about starting Difficult People for a while. Meatgrinder posted:I started watching Dead To Me's second series, and I had to turn it off after like, 10 minutes. I was impressed with how the first series managed to avoid going full on melodrama/cringe comedy and was happy to see it stick the landing, and I realized then that if it didn't stop there it'd probably turn into a string of BUT OH NO situations the characters have to weasle their way out of for 10 episodes. Yeah I'd like to know too, seeing as I haven't gotten around to season 2 yet. The first season was fantastic.

It was basically all downhill from there, but it started so high that my connection to the characters let me drag myself through the last couple seasons. I couldn't disagree more. I felt TGP got better as time went on. Season 3 has some of the best episodes in the series.
