My netflix is basically an excuse to binge through series after series.
Right now:
Just caught up to the current season of Supernatural, but since I can't watch the season 5 episodes previous to right now, I don't really want to watch it until the DVDs show up in the summer/fall. Also its on the same time as Fringe :argh:

Just finished season 1 of Alias about to start season 2. Great show so far, but is it like Lost in that it gets more obtuse and non-sensical as the seasons progress(same creator, same network)?

About to start Season 2 of The Shield. Its one of those shows that I hate watching, except when I'm actually watching it, then I can't stop watching it. Something about a total corrupt rear end in a top hat cop as protagonist that's addicting.

Finally on my instant queue I'm watching Hotel Babylon. I'll be honest, I expected this to be something you'd find on cinemax or showtime at 2am. While its not soft-core porn, its pretty good. It works for the same reason NCIS does, well written characters, hilarious banter and overall good writing. Too bad the seasons are only 8 episodes long.

The show really ramps up around the second half of the second season, and continues to build from there. While the first season has some pretty good episodes (Dragonchasers, Circles), it's not the best indicator of the rest of the series, which becomes much more cohesive and less episodic edgy cop drama.
I know it does, I actually saw the final 2 seasons first as that's whats on Netflix Instant, so I know how good it gets. But I kinda like to know what they're referencing so I went back.

I just finished season 3 of Alias is it worth getting season 4? I can see how its starting to go to crazytown, but how are the last two seasons.

Just finished Alias Season 4, it wasn't terrible under any stretch. While the some of the stand-alone(terrorist has sci-fi weapon X, take them out) were forgettable, the main arc, especially starting with "A Second Mr. Sloane" was phenomenal. While having Rembaldi's greatest creation being a Zombie-Maker could be construed as jumping the shark, it isn't because they played it straight with excellent writing.

Also, Sloane was the main character this season, with Jack being the 2nd main, I don't care what anyone else says :colbert:

I'm looking forward to watching season 5.

Just finished the Shield(was rotating it with Alias and Deadwood) and I have to say I found Dutch and Claudette often more interesting that Vince and his crew. While Vic was the focus and could be interesting at points, I found it harder and harder to route for an egotistical jackass I oh so wanted him to blow his brains out at the very end where he was sitting in the federal building at his desk job with the lights off having his team either dead or in jail and his family in witness protection.

Dutch and Claudette, on the other hand, were two sympathetic characters(who I assume were written that way) that I could route for and found myself fast-forwarding through Vic's scenes of holding up yet another drug dealer to find out how they solve the case or break a suspect in interrogation. CCH Pounder should have least been nominated for best Lead/supporting actress in a Drama for Man Inside and her amazing showdown with Kleavon.

Does anyone think this about the show?

I dunno how you saw the entire thing, remembered a character like Kleavon but still don't know the main characters name.

Vic = short for Vincent, they even called him that at several points, but fixed anyway. But oddly I didn't know what actors were who until I actually looked them up last night. I thought CCH Pounder was a dude and Jay Karnes played Shane(I thought I read that somewhere) :downs:

I just finished Angel and the final moment was an :argh: as Angel, Illyra/fred, spike and an injured Gunn run off to fight a horde of demons just as "Executive Producer Joss Whedon" appears and I assume they all die. Still its more of a cliffhanger for a season finale, not a series finale.

Overall, I liked Angel more than Buffy, I can't put my finger on exactly why, but I have to say Wolfram Hart is big part of it. They are truly one of the best TV antagonists I've ever watched.

Harmony never became awesome.

I liked her episode in season 5, Harm's Way and it just wasn't because of the opening Wolfram and Hart commercial. It showed what an average day is like for an average Wolfram employee.

X-files season 6 has some high points too, Tithonus, Monday and Arcadia specifically, but you only really need to watch those episodes.

Currently on season 3 of CSI
Dear CSI: Please bring back William Peterson, he is awesome, Fishbourne is boring.
Actually why did Peterson leave? According to IMDB, he's done nothing since. It had to be sudden since he left mid-season.

CSI is a terrible show but you have to watch it while pretending you have down syndrome (ie: like horrible reveals -- care nothing about character development as long as the plot is loving stupidly whack, etc).
I think you meant CSI: Miami there. CSI:LV(the first one) is pretty drat good.

I'm almost done with season 2 of Charmed. I like it. It's different from most shows in the fantasy genre ie. not male-centric, while not being as stupid and disturbing as twilight. Plus having the three leads be 20+ with, Shannon Dorherty's character pushing 30, gives it a decent mature bent.

It may be girly, but I think its a must watch for any occult fantasy fans.

I watch a lot of girly shows and I'm into fantasy but Charmed is literally one of the worst television series of all time. (Yes I sat through it)

You know, I can't disagree with all the knocking. Some episodes are so bad or just plain boring, I just fast forward through them, but occasionally there's a very good episode that makes up for the terrible.

On season 5 of Charmed. I have to say the show became a lot better after Dorherty left and Mcgowan replaced her after season 3. The writing improved, the show gained more focus and the effects got better too. I was shocked when usually guaranteed shark-jumpers like, Phoebe's demonic baby were handled better than they had any right to be. Even the blatant and annoying musical-act plug are becoming less annoying as they generally are done at the beginning, right after the title sequence and not at the end of the show, which took the air of quite a few earlier episodes.

Lastly, one nice thing the show does(starting with season 2), that I wish more would've done, is alter the main title sequence to reflect who is in an episode. If a major and permanent side-character is not in an episode, they aren't in the title sequence. Not critical, but a nice touch none the less.

Hoping the rest of the show is as good as it is right now.

I'm on season 7 of Charmed and I'm really liking this Avatar storyline because they're supposed to be antagonist and I know eventually they're going to turn out to be evil, but I can't help liking them.

Finally finished Charmed.
Seasons 1-3 are pure garbage and most of the hate comes from that.
Seasons 4-5 are fantastic and the best of the series.
Season 6 is pretty good.
The first half of season 7 is excellent, the second half is ok.
Season 8 is hit and miss, and the series finale is confusing and lame.

I've been watch Greek, which was put up on Netflix and they're posting the final season episodes 2 weeks behind the current TV episode. I like it a lot and I don't really like straight dramas. I think those who actually went to college like it more that those who haven't/didn't.
I think the character of Calvin is great because even though he's gay, his various relationship drama often gets as much focus and screen time as any other character's, which is something one rarely sees.
