The small ticket office was not quite what you expected. As with most people in Tao Jones Fun Land, the ticket agent was cheery and bright, but still, as you gazed at the Tao Jones Fun Train, there was a certain sense of foreboding. Still, something draws you forward, and you find yourself saying: "Hi, yes, I would like one (1) Tao Jones Fun Ticket to Tao Jones Fun Town, the happiest place on Earth!"

I am taking informal expressions of interest in a slot in Tao Jones Fun Land, my upcoming 31 player game. Please contact me on aim (arrows4you) and/or PM with your forum name and your AIM addy. When I post the recruitment thread closer to the launch date, I will ask you to confirm that you are still interested. My lovely and talented assistant Kilgrey will be helping mod the game, but don't bug her about signups because I keep her in the dark about this sort of stuff, just like God intended females be kept. :colbert:

Note: Tao Jones Fun Government takes no responsibility for the sanity or well-being of guests of Tao Jones Fun Land.

EDIT: Game will likely start in early/mid January.

Historians and lorekeepers disagree upon what happened at the close of the Age of Legends. Some say that King The Ninth Layer departed from the world, sailing away with his High Elven kin to the lands of the West. Others say that QUeen Mills took her own life in a fit of despair about how terrible her army was. Still others hold another truth: that the gods themselves abandoned the world in a fit of insanity, having the gall to abandon the works of mortal men. The truth about these uncertain times may never be known.

In the thousand years that passed, great empires and great cities rose and expanded. Ogres and Trolls began to recede from the world, pushed out into the savage frontiers. Humanity spread across the continents like a wildfire, pushing many other races out into the fringes of civilization. Excesses of magical energy grew throughout the world, creating so-called "mana leaks"; dangerous regions where magical firestorms would suddenly erupt. As a result, magicians were driven underground, forced to practice their arts in secret; in time, only a small fraction of arcane lore would remain.

Among humanity, the old ways of monarchy were beginning to decline. The spread of civilization and prosperity enabled new men, experts and scientists, to come to power, creating great technocracies. Machine technology and chemistry were particularly prestigious fields of study, penetrating the world's secrets in the way that the magic of old once did. Some places even gave up kingship completely, preferring instead to let the will of the people decide all important matters.

As art, science, and freedom spreads, it seems that the world is poised for a new Golden Age - but shadows of the past still linger...

Announcing The Fantasy World at War 2: Renaissance! Renaissance is similar in spirit to the first game, with many old features that were dumb removed and many new features which are also dumb added! Some of these changes include:

All-new Class system! Be an Engineer, Man-at-Arms, Musketeer, Chemist, Alienist, Cavalryman, Agent, Demagogue, or Bureaucrat, each with two core powers and at least one player-specific power!

Revamped statistics system! Foolishly mis-assign your points to Brawn, Finesse, Wits, Resolve, Panache, and Sixth Sense!

Battle Phase even more central to the game! Night phase removed entirely!

Additional strategic decisions! War Parties may now send out spies to learn about their enemies and/or build fortifications, permanent structures to use on the field of battle.

More quests! More battlefields! 100% fewer items/day actions!

I HAVE THE GALL to assure you that the game will proceed to conclusion this time!

Anticipated launch: mid-January
