JOINING THE SA FORUMS WILL REMOVE THIS BIG AD, THE ANNOYING UNDERLINED ADS, AND STUPID INTERSTITIAL ADS!!!

You can: log in, read the tech support FAQ, or request your lost password. This dumb message (and those ads) will appear on every screen until you register! Get rid of this crap by registering your own SA Forums Account and joining roughly 150,000 Goons, for the one-time price of $9.95! How do OpenGL versions map to DirectX versions in terms of hardware requirements? For example, if I can target DirectX 9.0c, what OpenGL versions do I have to work with?

What's the latest craze in shadow mapping? I screwed myself royally trying to mix EVSM and SpeedTree back in the day, and I've kind of kept a distance since.

Looks like my lust for D3D12 is going to force me into Windows 10. Got to figure out what the slow parts are right away or else I won't be able to figure out what horrible flaws the next crop of papers are trying to hide
